Pretty sure the Porsche oversteer problem was due to the suspension setup, when the weight transferred the rear would become light and lift. The geometry of the suspension mean this adds toe out which causes the rear to come round super quick. Cool car aswell
@somerandomgoogleuser3374 Жыл бұрын
@ Howy, the Porsche is a "rear mounted motor" , so all the weight is on the very ass end of car... I drive a "mid mount" & it'll oversteer too - IF you let of the gas too quickly/too much... You have to "learn" how to drive these types & definitely not be afraid of them. Once mastered, the cornering speed achievable is phenomenal & yes your cheek muscles do hurt, i can vouch whole heartedly about that! They're ( Mid mounts & Rear mounts) giant Go Karts...... Awesome fun!

SOLAR PANELS!!!!!!!!! Why hasn't anyone else ever thought "that roof is an ideal place for a couple of flexible solar panels". It's certainly doable and would help increase range and considering most cars are parked in open carparks in the sun it's a no brainer. It might not full charge the battery but would be a definite plus considering the lack of charge points.
@GenaF3 жыл бұрын
We have said the same thing, and also that the whole car could be covered in them so as to absorb the solar rays and during the day there would always be some facing the sun.
@wobblyeye4933 жыл бұрын
@@GenaF I think to completely cover the car may have inherent problems but they could definitely create a perfectly shaped roof panel and protect it from damage. Since they started this project I've been saying they should do this as most cars are parked in the sun all day and charge points are few and far between. It would also push forward the technology with greater focus on getting more from it. But they'll say where's the profit in that....

The distinct a electric vehicle can do depends on 3 things 1, the speed at witch you drive it, 2, the weight the vehicle has to carry, 3, the terrain you drive it on ie hills use more juice

No business is going to spend millions, putting in the electrical infrastructure, if they don't know whether they'll get a return on it. The way this is going to happen, is that large supermarkets will start the ball rolling, as they're ALREADY making money BEFORE they start installing the charge points. Therefore it's the larger towns and cities where electric cars make the most sense.

The kid's only getting 'range anxiety' cos the parent is getting it, and mentioning it out loud for the kid to hear.!🧐! If trips are planned correctly for charging, then there's absolutely no need for ANY anxiety.!🧐! You don't set off across the Australian Outback in a petrol car, with a quarter of a tank of fuel, hoping and worrying that there'll be a service station on the way, where I can put another quarter of a tank in, and carry on like that till you get to where you're going do you.!😂!. You fill the tank RIGHT UP before you set off, and make sure that there's a fuel stop within the range of said tank. If there isn't, then you simply don't set off in the first place.

Why do they don't they just self charge. Alternators ?
@markw1915 Жыл бұрын
An alternator can't provide enough power to supply that kind of charge, so a fuel type of engine has to top it up, thus defeating the object of electric cars self charging, the fuel consumption when 'self charging' that way is ridiculously high, I own a 4wd Hybrid and the tech just isn't there right now to give anywhere near decent mpg while 'self' charging, maybe in another 10yrs or so it might be but not right now.

ELECTRIC CHARGING... I THINK... That if there are charging 'docks' at locations... Half way up the country. Three Quarters the way, from either end of the country, and, At the top and bottom of the country, This would be a good enough start to a plan that would end up with perfection. This is very a simplistic view. But it would be workable, as the ranges of these cars would be good with this to START WITH. Having them at ALL motorway services, is a start, but to put a plan into action where this is the end goal, and swapping petrol pumps with charging 'docks' is NOT the right answer. It's a far cry from it. But, I can't be arsed writing a motor magazine article, right here, right now.!🙄!.
