after watching this it's easy to see why Billy had a thing for Karen... Billy had mommy issues obviously and Karen was the best mom on the show. She's kind,caring, and supportive...Billy tried to seduce her but she stayed loyal even though she was attracted to him... She never really " hits" on Billy... although its obvious she thinks he is attractive.... it really speaks volumes of her character.

Karen Wheeler is a decent mother. She seems very kind and supportive of her kids and is only tough on them when the situation calls for it like when Nancy slept with a certain someone in season 1 and lied about it (I know Nancy was worried about Barbara at that point but still) Glad Karen stopped herself before she officially cheated on her husband because she recognized that she would be hurting her kids if she went through with it. Her not knowing what Mike has been up to until season 4 is just a sign of how good of an actor Mike is. Since the season 4 finale, nobody can deny it anymore or at least they can't deny it the same way Scully does in the X-Files

Maybe she’s tied to Vecna somehow, she had a relationship with Billy, whatever it was. Simply a woman’s desire to have something exciting? I’m not sure. It’s possible that Karen has some guilt over Billy considering she had a bit of an emotional affair on her husband with Billy. We know she feels guilty where she’s getting ready but then sees her husband and her daughter laying on the chair sleeping together. He may be clueless but he’s a good father. She believes he doesn’t deserve what she’s doing to him. Maybe Vecna is going to use this against her? We know that he used Billy against max and Barb against Nancy. Maybe Vecna will do the same with Billy to Nancy?

Especially when she wasn't at his house even in the vision, he just showed Nancy clips of her family getting killed at home (or that's how she described it) I totally can see him using the relationship against her though in the future. Some people tried to say the house represents Hawkins, but if that was the case, Eleven's poster would have the house, since the lab is in Hawkins.

I don't understand why Mrs Wheeler didn't know anything about the supernatural events. At 8:21, Nancy tells her that she believes something happened to Barb. At 10:00 the government took away their stuff and explained to them that Mike was with a girl with special abilities. Nancy and Mike must have explained what that was about, right? She knew it was a serious situation because at 11:10 the next time she saw Mike, he was with the police force and several police cars parked at their middle school. There was even an ambulance so she must have known it was dangerous. Why didn't Nancy or Mike tell her what happened in S1? What about Joyce, she and Karen knew each other in the first season as you can see at 6:02. At 29:22 when everybody thinks the children are murderers, she should have connected the dots that there may be something/someone that's after the kids. Will dying and getting ''revived'', Barb being ''killed'' by the same government that's after her two children and a girl that Mike has been hiding throughout season 1 (Eleven dated Mike so Mrs Wheeler should have met her on several occasions), a giant fire at the mall that's ''killed'' multiple people yet there were no bodies. She knew about all of these things, yet she never realised that these things may have something to do with her kids or that they may be involved in something.

My Theory about her and Alice Creel. Karen was born and raised in Hawkins and when a girl, Alice, moved into Hawkins she instantly wanted to become friends with her. They became friends and spent good portions of the day together as Alice wanted to get away from Henry and the house. Alice kept on having nightmares about the snow and what Henry was doing. She was telling Karen all about this and when Alice unfortunately died, Karen knew it was Henry. She vowed to get revenge on Henry which is why she never left Hawkins and waited for his return. When she saw the snow, she knew what had happened. Also some things that may help with connections is the toy rabbit that Nancy had and of course the rabbit that died in the Creel's backyard. Also, Karen seemed to change after the Gates of Hell opened up.

Another thing I find weird is that in S1 Holly knew about the monsters living in the walls and she could see the trees moving in S3. I feel like the writers are planning to do something with her in S5 because it just feels weird to have her sense these things and then not do anything with it. Maybe they are/were waiting for her to become older to fully utilize her character

I always disliked the Billy and Karen romance. All it did for me was make me not like Karen. She was a loving caring mother all the way up untill the start of season 3. Then she out of the blue starts to entertain cheating on her husband with Billy (a minor mind you). Then she goes back to Billy to apologize for standing him up and act as if the relationship would have been appropriate if she wasn't married with kids. It just made me not like her. Imagine if Mike's dad had been ogling Heather at the pool and then he was just about to go cheat on his wife with this highschool girl but decided last minute to not go through with it. I just wouldn't be able to look his character the same way again know he would sleep with a minor if he wasn't married.

Don't forget that the Billy and Karen storyline actually started in season 2, so it didn't technically come out of the blue in season 3. But the billy thing aside (he was actually 18 in season 3, still doesn't make it entirely okay) she was still a loving and supportive mother even in season 3 and 4. That never changed with Karen. She just never experienced real love and her husband is a couch potatoe who has never shown her any form of affection and just sits around all day complaining. I can't blame Karen for being seduced by Billy and luckily she never cheated on her husband. Tbh I liked that they included more of her and she is a good supporting character. I think she learned a valuable lesson and that is to either find happiness within her marriage or just divorce her husband. And clearly she chose the first option.
