I remember having Samantha as my first American Girl doll as a little girl. I loved her so much! Then I got Josephina, Molly, Kaya, and Felicity. As I got older, I lost interest and ending up selling them. Then I learned about Rebecca a couple of years later. Being Russian Jewish and having my Jewish great grandparents come from Russia to American during her time, I HAD to get her! Today I am back to owning an American Girl doll and having an interest in getting more. Amazing how I went from selling my dolls to now getting back into them! Even though I have no interest in getting my old dolls back, I feel like starting over. That is my American Girl story!

Amazing collection! It makes me so happy to see that you continued to collect throughout your teen years as I did! I got my first doll, Samantha, for my 9th birthday which was- to date myself- October of 1990, way back when there were only 3 girls to choose from. I also never stopped collecting- getting Felicity for Hanukkah the year after her debut, an original black haired #6 bought new with my allowance when I was 15, Josefina the year she debuted for my 16th birthday, and Kit the year she debuted for my 19th birthday. I turned 40 in October, and my current doll count is 43! Finally picking up Kaya during one of the holiday deals this month, I now have every single historical doll including 2 Kirstens, 3 Felicitys, 4 Mollys, and 7 Samanthas. What can I say? I have a soft spot for the Pleasant Company years since that's when I grew up. I don't have most of the girls of the year, but I've been picking them up more frequently in recent years- I have Grace, Luciana, Blaire, and Kira. And I'm already smitten with Corrine, so she's probably coming home soon too.

Honestly her dolls are beautiful! For Christmas I just got my seventh doll but I am only nine. I hope when I’m older I can have a channel and have as many dolls as she does. All the people in the AG community inspire me!

Great video! It’s good to know that some people continue collections through their teen years. You are right between my children in age (my son is 21 and my daughter is 19). My daughter got out of dolls in middle school, around 7th grade. She still has them all, but she isn’t interested in them anymore. Fun fact, she plays violin and in December of 2019, she played at Carnegie Hall as well (although she didn’t go to AG while we were in NY, I did).

Awesome video, I love seeing your collection. You got such an amazing haul from the benefit sale. Between a tradeoff of Cecile or the boyfriend, I think you got the better end of the deal :) I currently have 53 AG dolls. I've sold a few over the years that I didn't connect with or that felt too similar to others I owned. There are still quite a few more that I want but I'm nearly out of room.

Now I have a daughter of my own and came across a sale for 4 ag dolls for $30 each including one of my dream dolls! I am so excited to build a collection with her for the years to come. I currently have a marisol, kit, Kirsten, and kailey in boxes, considering a channel too! I love all of your doll collection! I too have all the historical dolls including all the best friends. I have all the girl of the year as well. The only one that I don’t have is Sonali which I hope I can get one. I have tons of truly me as well and those I change their outfits. What a lovely collection!! I also got Emily for Christmas 2006 when I was 8, but she was my 2nd doll at that point (first one was #14 in Christmas 2005). I now have 61 AG dolls and it's rare for me to find a collector with more AG dolls than me!! Do you collect any other doll lines? I collect a few others but AG will always be #1.
