I'm looking forward to seeing the macaw colors and iridescence with the Nicaraguense. Also I love the oscar, thats really old school - in the sense that they were an early introduction to the aquarium hobby. When I was a kid in the 80s, there were these old guys in the aquarium association that had oscars. I was amazed by the red velvet textures and wet pet style...

Question for Quinn: like you, I am a high school science teacher. What sort of precautions do you take to make sure the facilities people aren’t spraying chemicals near your fish tanks in the evenings after everyone has gone home for the day? Especially now during these times with COVID-19 when facilities crews are doing more to sanitize everything.

What geophagus would you recommend for a 55gal bow front/ corner tank with a 5 gal sump? How many of the geophagus and what are other fish I could keep with them. Could I keep my 2inch convict with them?
@connorrothandler67884 жыл бұрын
Where should I get the geophagus and other fish to go with them?
@CichlidBros4 жыл бұрын
Geophagus Tapajos would be good since they stay smaller. A little group of 5-7 would do well together. Sand substrate is definitely recommended. And buying at local fish stores or online (Imperial Tropicals, Aquatic Arts, etc.)
@connorrothandler67884 жыл бұрын
Ok thank you for the recommendation can I keep my convict with 5-7 geophagus red head tapajo and what sex ratio would you recommend?

Hi! Hoping you can reply as needing advice? I have a 160 litre tank and looking to stock it with some South American cichlids. Any suggestions for what I could put it for a tank my size? Maybe a pair of firemouths? thanks!
@CichlidBros4 жыл бұрын
I would say a pair of firemouths would work. A few South American options could be electric blue acaras, sajica, keyhole or rainbow cichlids
