PLEASE READ THIS:
Yes I know that I didn’t include Jon Pertwee’s first encounter with Elizabeth Sladen in this video, but I have already done so in a previous video, and am only including Matt Smith’s first interaction with Elizabeth Sladen for the sake of number continuity.
Also, this video was requested by ‪@robo3007‬

I'm just confused that the title of the video says "all" of her first meetings, but that doesn't seem to be what the video is. I understand you say you included them in other videos, but I don't quite see why they wouldn't be included here for a video with that subject. Not to be annoying, just puzzled.

Yeah, Capaldi would have loved that. However, the 12th Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith would be at each other's throats for the duration of their time together. 12 was rather rude, condescending, and dismissive, and, Sarah is one smart cookie that would not put up with even one microgram of 12's attitude. Though, I do believe that Sarah Jane and 13 would have gotten along swimmingly. Well, once she got over the surprise of the Doctor having a whole new gender. I think they would have actually been besties.
@george49632
@george49632 7 ай бұрын
@@drhacknslashzombietimelord6768 12 could be rude, although I would say the worst of it was in his first season. He was always pretty gentle and affectionate with people who he liked/loved, e.g. River. I think Sarah would have definitely been one who got the full charm offensive since the doctor in general had such a special relationship with her. I think he would be trying to show off more than anything. I can see them arguing but more like an old married couple. Also, 4 could be a little rude at times so I think it wouldn't be totally new to her. Would love to see a comic or novel where 12 finds out that she has died and then goes back through the timestream to pack in extra adventures with her before the end. Could be a really beautiful love letter to Liz. Also, I don't think Capaldi would have let them make his doctor rude to Sarah. The man actually had a lot of input during his tenure.

there WAS an interview with him, Baker and Peter Davidson all together with a BBC reporter. (BBC1 removed it when Jodie was revealed) and lets just say, Jon was a raging sexist. And I mean, a proper one. "Along came Elizabeth with all these ideas and opinions. .... im the mother hen, she should be under my cloak. Come come little dove, I'll protect you. I told them, she goes or I do." Tom Baker chimed in when asked about a female Doctor. "A female Doctor? ARE YOU MAD!??!? The show is called DOCTOR WHO! Not Nurse Who. It's bad enough we let them vote!" Meanwhile Peter just sat there like "nope. Not saying a word!" Its a shame BBC1 removed the interview, it was hilarious seeing how they actually felt.

My actor friend Karole (Louisville, Kentucky) tells the story of doing summer Shakespeare somewhere up north (Michigan?) with an actor who had brought his lovely wife along. Karole was talking with her one day and asked what she did for a living. She said, "Oh, I act too, I was on a British show called Docto Who." It was Elizabeth Sladen. My friend Karole says that she (Karole) about lost her fudge: we Americans knew Sarah Jane Smith because she was in the package of Fourth Doctor episodes that aired on our own BBC (PBS, the Public Broadcasting System) in the 1980s.

It depends on how you consider the canon. River Song claims to have met every single version of the Doctor prior to meeting 12 for the first time and failed to recognize him, presumably because Twelve is the first Doctor to fall outside of his natural regeneration cycle, although on screen, she has only ever met Ten, Eleven and Twelve. Between on screen appearances, Big Finish productions, video games and her own timeline and origin being hella complicated, it's possible she's met more versions of the Doctor than any other companion. And that is only if you can even consider her a companion, because she really just sort of zips in and out of his life all the time, so even that is debatable. She's canonically met at least three and if you're willing to bend the rules, much more than that, although many were through disguises and distant communications. If that doesn't count for you, then Sarah Jane is probably the first 'real' companion to have met the most incarnations of the doctor and she didn't have to be a magical child of the tardis to do it, either, so it's actually more impressive.

I’m sure that scene where the Doctor “tows” Sarah Jane up a slight incline in his car looked better on paper. @@xr6lad you have to understand something and actors only as good as the script. On occasion, you get an actor can take a very bad script, and because he is very much or she in this case is very much completely understanding their character they know how to manipulate the script in such a way that, if the script is bad, it comes off as comic and if the script is stupid, they can make it look like some sort of intentional blender that should read blunder voice to text is giving me problems again and I can’t fix it because my hands are not good. I personally think it Hass to do with the actor who portrays the character. We know that with the doctors wife Kingston, I think her last name is, she took a character that anybody else portraying would have had a difficulty in making it seem realistic, making it seem realistic and plausible even and she made the character so very her own that they could never make anybody really embody her if they suddenly gave her a new face and they put a different actor in her place. It wouldn’t work because she is the character and believe me some of those scripts left a lot to be desired, but she worked them. Sladden could take and I’m sorry again voice to text did not put down Elizabeth Slayden and I don’t know if it’s even spelling her name correct? I can’t do anything about it. It’s driving me nuts point is Elizabeth Slaton was a very hard act, and that has more to do with the fact that whether she knew it or not, she became the character she made the character her own even if somehow, miraculously, they tried to give her time powers to where she could regenerate it. Just a new face would never work for her character. She is the character some actors are that way actually, wouldn’t you agree.

Still think Elisabeth was one of the best companions! She saw quite a few doctors and was never stumped! Brought them back down to earth, if that doesn't sound daft. Loved the fact that she she

Did Elizabeth have only one meeting with Peter or were there several different varieties of Peter to greet her? (That could be a bit off-putting)

I'm not really familiar with the first four Doctors (I grew up in the 80s and Davison was the first one I remember) but watching Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee and Baker, here, in these clips, they're all wonderful and I know one day I'm going to enjoy going through all their episodes. It certainly beats the rubbish pile that the new show has turned into.

Shame Elisabeth Sladen didn’t get a chance to meet the 12th and 13th Doctors. I bet that if she would have been alive when Jodie Whittaker was the Doctor then everyone would have accepted the 13th Doctor without question.

I loved seeing Five reunite with Sarah and Susan, even though there wasn't a whole lot of interacting you could tell the actor put as much chemistry into those moments as he could.

I know it's silly to wonder "What if...?" now, given Elizabeth Sladen's (hope I spelt the last name right) hasn't been with us for 13+ years now, but a part of me can't help but wonder how Sarah Jane might have reacted to/acted around the other Doctors that she didn't get the chance to meet (which, for those curious as of when I wrote this, was 6th Doctor through to 9th Doctor (War Doctor included), and 12th Doctor through to 15th Doctor (Renegade Doctor included too)). Loved the clip. 🙂

Fun fact: Sarah Jane Smith is the only companion meet with almost every variations of the doctor from the 1st to 11th doctors except the 6th-9th doctors face to face/on screen in TV series if u don't count the other Doctor Who related audio dramas, novels, short stories, comics etc. before her actress, Elisabeth Sladen passed away in 2011
