Love this! I graduated from High School in Connecticut in '76. We called ourselves the "Bicentennial Class". Fewer and fewer people come to the 5 year reunions as many are aging out. I turn 66 years old in December 2024. Life goes on....

The syncope symphone, oh how you have screamed for so long with none to hear your voice. Oh how those who have stumbled upon you heard your cries to be remembered, your cries of nostalgia and days long passed from memories suffer under your burdernsome affect of the mind and senses. You show no malice, no hate, no malignancy. You are but a forgotten wound in the worlds memory, your echoes heard by some, but not enough. We hear the symphony and we feel its effects, the mightiest of cognitohazards and the most absurd of consequences. We are sorry we forgot. We will not do so again. We will not fade, we will not forget you, we will be syncope.

I love the tribute, but always wonder what it feels like not to have a diverse town, schools, or friends. I am so lucky to have lived in neighborhoods and attended school with all types of cultures. Paseo High School 1976, home of the Pirates in Kansas City MO is my claim to fame though our old building isn't there anymore. At some point they lost their accreditation and returned soon as the Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts. Annnnd... they changed our school colors.... WTF! THAT IS WHEN IT BECAME CLEAR TO ME THAT, THAT PLACE IS NOT MY ALMA MATER! We are in the wilderness #Pirates with no place to call home or our own! @1976PaseoHighSchool Graduation! All hail and show ya love for the RED, BACK, AND GOLD.... AAAARRG!

Back then Avon was a small farming community. Much larger and diverse now than it was in the 70’s. There was diversity in the school, but just not in our particular class. I went to college in Indianapolis with a very diverse and friendly crowd. Last year at our Avon alumni banquet we honored our alum of the year, a great man of color from the class of 1970. Sorry they changed your school. That sucks. Avon is not a small town anymore. My wife can’t believe how close my classmates all are. I say it’s because we grew up in a place that doesn’t exist anymore except in our collective memory. Thank you for commenting.

What a wonderful song. The melody brings back all the good days with the symphony. They never forgot us, we were always in their memory. The whole North Hillcrest, they remember us, if you just listen to the tune. We've had a great year, haven't we? Too bad, all it took was going to school on the wrong day...

Brings back the good memories. Like the time we went to the lake in the fall of 75. Or our quick adventures in the marching band. Still have a Polaroid photograph from that year. Get nostalgic just touching it. While it might not have been the year we were expecting, we've had a great year, haven't we? Don't worry about waiting for the reunion, I'm sure we'll see each other soon enough. Lots of love, from all of your best friends.

ALL OF US (The Class of 1976) It's been 40 years now since we all learned the dance and filed into the west gym to Pomp & Circumstance Most of us couldn't wait to leave, to move on to bigger things We've never been ones to be afraid to see what the future brings Ron carried on the family trade and has for all his life Andy simply couldn't wait to make Cheryl his wife Jim & Debi wed, Jerry and Darcie too, and Sharon Esamann While Ritty and Kip and Dave Weir agreed, a younger woman was for them. Julie Irvin married her best friend and moved away. Vicki Hill had a little boy who carried on his daddy's name. Magee and Elick wore Navy blue, but they're still black and gold through and through and so are Patty, Janice, Chris and Trish who led the cheers for our old school Gilmour took his art out west, Gary Brown's our resident rocket scientist For the life of me I can't think of anything else that sounds so cool Some of us would go straight to work, some to school and some to serve Some of us would do just fine until life threw us a curve Some of us would rise above and some would learn to take our licks But ALL of us are a part of the class of 1976 One Kevin is a surgeon now and the other one is the guy all us other guys wanted to be One Mark is an executive and another shares God's Word teaching people how they can be free Darla is an OR Nurse I hope I never have to see at work But if I do I know that I'll be glad that she is there Mark Searles beat the cancer cells and Bob Copeland can still run like hell and they are all a part of all the memories we share And would you please thank our Louise who holds us all so dear If not for all of her hard work, we would not be here And in these troubled times when good things never seem to last Gary Thompson's been my best friend since Mrs. Wilson's first grade class Some of us would go straight to work, some to school and some to serve Some of us would do just fine until life threw us a curve Some of us would rise above and some would learn to take our licks But ALL of us are a part of the class of 1976 My young days were filled with play, family and friends galore Sunday morning Bible class with Brinkman, Younce and Bourne And now that it's been forty years I guess I just wanted to say... That I am thankful I knew you all way back then… and for who you are today... Now Steve Byrd rocks the bass guitar and Bill Pursel can build you one hot car Mike Kelly will listen to you for a while and Gloria can help you maintain that smile Sittin' in Humanities, back in the day, cutting' up with Lander, Laws, Giguere and May Dave Sheets was my old neighbor pal and Susie Fuller's still one terrific gal Joe Green makes his living on 18 wheels, drivin' cross the country, man-oh what a deal Rick Richmond will get that contract signed and Joe Pell can add it all up on the bottom line Back in Jr High, Tim Bettis & me, watching Sammy Terry who was so scary. Daryl Palmer is retired now from the state and Vaughn and Humbert can sure still play…. Cathy Cooper, Mike Naylor, Chris Hermiz, Brenda Reed… Suzie Biddle, Mike Poynter, Brad Totten, Ginger Pleak… Kim Kiser, Cathy Cook, Julie Wood, Rita Vargo… Mike Fulcher, Judy Brooks, Keith Woods, JoDell Jarboe… Carolyn Cox, Lynda Canatsey, Jo Donna Hawkins, Connie Pinkerton, Dan Richardson and Marc McClanahan… Remember Jan & Jill?... Laurel & Marsha? When we first met 'em we couldn't tell 'em apart Larry and Marvin, managing the team and Cindy Vetters was the smartest girl I'd ever seen. Kelly Bradley, Kim Martin, Chris King, Jim Venable… Darlene Denny, Cinda Barnes, Tina Stassin, John Cole… Tom Coomes, Richard Starrett, Wayne Justice, Dee Ann Burkhart…Greg Walker, Debbie Pounds, Sandy Wilson, Carol Richhart… Bob Vondersaar, Jim Breidenstein, Dan Sellmeyer, Tim McAninch, Jim Clemons, Cindy Roseboom, Andrea Zink Now Cid built herself a new house on the beach way down south where the Indiana winters can't reach Neeley, Bennett and Lore work in insurance and healthcare while Rhonda's whole career has been up in the air Wish I was sittin' at the fountain at the C&E, asking Gayle to make a cherry-lemon Coke for me Catch a Rondinella/Wheeler summer baseball game and somehow Bev and Joetta both still look the same Bob Shonk, Amy Wright, Mark Whitis, Brian White, Cindy Farr, Cliff Harp, Rodney Poole, Brian Sparks……..Beth Sumners, Amy Morphew, Garry Jones, Roxy Haggard… Wayne Spencer, Kim Worden, Sharon Doane, Kathy Foster Allen Pruett, Karen Lathem, Dave Sherman, Darla Nelson … Gary Grider, Darrell Pritchett, Brenda Byes and David Wilson … Darrell McDonald, Terry Lefevers, Bob McDaniel and Bob Henderson - I think of every one of you now and then. So here's to the school that made us… on which all our hopes were hung To the pizzaburgers and milk breaks that kept us strong when we were young To building the float at Cindy Cole's and Annette's Homecoming kiss... They were all now memories… by 1976 I've heard people say they wouldn't change a thing but speaking just for me... There's so much I'd do different, given the opportunity I wish all of us could have been there, ready for a fight to protect the life of our sweet Jayne and the kids with her that night I'd been a better friend to Richard, and kept Bill out of that car Told Wayne Emberson to slow down, and to take care of his heart. I'd have prayed harder for Toni and for a cure for her disease For Cindy Rover, Rusty, Joyce and Eddie, Donnie Barnes, Brian Smith and Ora Reeves Oh the loss of Mike, Sheryl and Joanna hit us all like a ton of bricks... They are all now angels from… the class of '76 Some of us would go straight to work, some to school and some to serve Now some of us know we've been blessed in life far much more than we deserve Some of us carry brokenness that only God can fix. But all of us stood up as one… in 1976 Has it really been 40 years now since we all left the dance? and filed out of the west gym to Pomp and Circumstance Well it may be proof that ol' Father Time is still up to his old tricks... But I am of the mind we've all aged like a fine wine... Vintage 1976

Others became famous and died early, others are on the list of victims of Serial Killer's & others show up on the list's of the missing.. The others left the United States and haven't come back. There is no one on the reunion list.
