This is great, and really helped me. I am very much the whole “all or nothing” mentality. Thank you for sharing! Take care! ❤

Progress over perfection. Something is better than nothing. ❤

The 2 common saying "Don't let perfection get in the way of good enough" and "Paralysis through analysis" are frequent issue for minimalism and many other things. I still have issues with them but often get by when I accept some improvement is better than stagnation.

Wow! You nailed my biography perfectly. All or nothing, in work, play, eating, cluttering, cleaning (or not), etc. I can add self-loathing. Several times since Maria Kondo, I have tried decluttering. When I see the pile of wasted money and time, calculating the cost in time and treasure, realize the wasted possibilities had I not done that...the self-loathing is paralyzing. Next problem, physical exhaustion, complicating the emotional drain, of decluttering. So far, it wins in sabotaging every attempt. Which brings be back to self-loathing. Thank you for sharing. Something is better than nothing. Small steps in the right direction are enough. Will have to contemplate that.

Love the term ‘clutter nest’. Never heard that before but it’s a great term!

I can relate to the all or nothing way of thinking. I do struggle with trying to do everything perfectly when we all know that perfection doesn't exist.

In 2023, I did a series of No-Buy challenges and Low-Buy challenges. The Low-buy challenges seemed to work better as less was purchased likely because wiggle room was permitted reducing the “stop, then pop” tendencies I have.

Thank you Elin! I have been looking for my “word” for 2024. And as always, I don’t find it, it finds me. My word will be “rethink.”

I just had my 'breakimg the seal' with my latest purchase yesterday. Looking back at all my purchases these past few days have racked me up with guilt. But listening to u saying I don't need to continue buying moving forward, just because I broke the seal, really ease up my guilt. I think I just need to get back on the mindset of less is more.. And not caught up with sale..again.

Yes, I struggle with all or nothing thinking- that exact problem at the car wash and others like adding up for free shipping then de cluttering the extra because it didn’t fit my needs.

Yes, it is addicting, which sounds like an insane comment! I’m hoping my landlord doesn’t think I’m moving out! I am donating so much.
