Fr, like as his first movie, and someone who just took on only a couple months in preparation for acting, his performance was beyond INCREDIBLE. I feel big screen movie production companies should start hiring and leading new and different actors, rather than there be like a 6th movie casting Dwayne Johnson or Leonardo Dicaprio

I'm so glad they kept the dialogue of this movie in German. It lends an added depth and realism to the movie that far too many movie-makers underestimate, especially in the historical genre. And Felix was PHENOMENAL! He absolutely deserved an award!

Exactly. It's why I can't watch "Boy in the Striped Pajamas" and why "Life is Beautiful" is so much better to show classes, it retains the language so the authenticity is there.

Sure, the feelings can come from the authenticity, like with AQOTWF (I’m lazy, sue me), but with the holocaust, you can’t change the worst side of human nature for the better.

While I will admit this version of the movie portrays some parts of WWI better than the older movies. But it is not as good in other parts like soldiers view on civilians or the other major parts of the story and my opinion I prefer 1979‘s all quiet on the western front.

Should have won the best picture. And Felix for best acting, dude made me cry by being quiet. Sadly Oscars have to be woke now, so Everything Everywhere All at Once won, but The Banshees of Inisherin, Tar and All Quiet on the western front were all clearly better.
