There are different national ensembles you can try out for in High School. There's the 'National Youth Orchestra', organized by Carnegie Hall in New York that meets every summer. There's also the 'Honor Band of America' organized by BOA. Both are competitive enough to where you basically have to be an All-State level player to have a chance, but neither are connected to the Texas All-State Band, which is a separate competition run by the Texas Music Educator's Association (TMEA). So there's no such thing as "All-Nationals".
