Jeffrey D the way those words (who, what) are conjugated demonstrates the mutation of nouns in that particular case. That should clear up a lot of confusion as to how a noun functions in a Russian sentence.

Wow! Almost 3 years to the day after you first posted this video and it is still helping people as though you posted it especially today as a brand new video. There have been so many times that in discussion sections, people are talking about "this answers the question ..... bla bla bla" and I have been struggling to understand what this "question concept" was/is all about. For months and months. But here, in less than the first 3 1/2 minutes of this video, you have explained it in a way that I understand. Naturally, it will take a while to absorb, but thank you for such a straight forward explaination.

Any case haves a hepling word (expect nominative) Genitive - No (someone, something) Dative - To give (to who, to something) Accusative - I see (someone, something) Instrumental - Proud of (someone, something) Prepositional - About (someone, something) Prepositional can be used ONLY with a preposition

Im from the Police State, but live in Kyiv. When I say something in public in Russian (or even English actually!) the whole room stops. Why? NO ONE learns Russian. NO ONE. Why? Well, start studying Russian and this question will be quickly answered........

I was born and Russia and I know my language perfectly, therefore I have a right to give an advice: context is a king of everything! language is not something that you study and language cannot be taught. I know a little bit about the topic of this video, but it's not an important thing! You have to GRASP it mentally by A LOT OF reading, by immersion!
@cluckygirl792
@cluckygirl792 2 жыл бұрын
I agree whole heartedly. I’m a mature English person and I’m learning with Mark Thomson (Russian Accelerator Course). His methods are brilliant. A lot of listening and more TALKING and much more practice! It’s hard but if introduced in the right way, it makes cases manageable.

FIRST: The link does not work. SECOND: The table on the video is not clearly seen, so it does not help. THIRD: having every case with a who? and what? does not help those learning to distinguish the difference. This could have been presented in a much better and clearer way. FOURTH: 2 word sentence is not very helpful. Maybe taking one word or a sentence and showing how the words change with content will be better understood....Example: how does the word "sobaka" will look when it is the Nominative in a normal sentence, in the accusative, in the prepositional and so on...and do this for one word that is masculine, one that is feminine and a word that is neuter to follow the changes thru the cases within a sentence...hope my explanation was clear...again, HERE IS AN EXAMPLE: : the dog is running to the house. The house was build for the dog. The kid was bit by the dog. This bone is for the dog......IN THIS WAY WE CAN EASILY SEE THE CHANGES OF THE WORD "DOG" IN ALL THE CASES...
