Sauron is by far the best evil Character in the franchise yet only gets 8m of screentime

Part of what makes Sauron’s presence in the Third Age so effective as an antagonist is that he barely appears yet the viewer knows that he is there biding his time and that if he gets the Ring back no one in Middle-earth stands a chance against him.

Sauron and Morgoth are worthy enough to have the title as Dark Lord. Voldemort and Grindelwald do not come close to be considered as a Dark Lord.

Grindelwald never called himself a Dark Lord, but I was mistaken too until I learned otherwise Dark Lord was a self proclaimed title Voldemort gave himself As far as I know Sauron and Morgoth didn’t gave eachother those titles Sauron did call himself Lord of the Earth, and Morgoth tried to usurp creation and rule the world but didn’t work out They aren’t even known by their real names as they were Melkor and Mairon when created Their names and titles was given to them by their enemies as Morgoth means Black Enemy as he was given it by the Elves of Valinor after he stolen the Similarls and help Shelob’s mother destroy trees that was a source of Light on Middle Earth Sauron is like how we call Satan the adversary or his in case the Enemy In the beginning all Morgoth wanted to was to create and rule a world of his own, envying how the other Valar can create and have a place of belonging among the denizens of Middle Earth, and envied that. Instead all he could was only destroy and ruin, or make monsters and sought to ruin creation out of spite Sauron sought perfection and Order, seeing his the Valar set the world order as imperfect, he felt creation needed a direct ruler to lead them to a better future and after Morgoth fell, put it on himself to be the God-King of Middle Earth In other words at least at the start neither of them saw themselves as what they saw them, and nevertheless was earned their evil titles from their deeds It’s ironic that the biggest bads are those who saw themselves as the opposite and yet are so good at it

Voldemort: an upstart wizard who sought to cheat death and rule the world. Sauron: corrupt Maiar spirit who seeks to create a world of dark order. Grindelwald: sought a world where wizards ruled over muggles . Morgoth: Middle-Earth's equivalent to the Devil! Without him, there would be no Sauron, no orcs, no Balrogs, no dragons, no evil in the world of Ardar

He really did sound better in Shadow of Mordor. His voice effect in Shadow of War was much to similar to the Nazgul.

They totally stole that skin line from Skyrim. "The skins of those you love will fly as my banner" -Molag Bal it's one of the most brutal and fittingly evil lines ever so I don't blame them.

It's official lore long before this game and the concept of the Elder Scrolls that the physical fate of Celebrimbor was to have his body hung on the banner Sauron's armies marched under during the last battle of the Second Age.

@@ChristianProtossDragoonNo, it’s not. TES has more basis in Dungeons & Dragons lore than Tolkien’s. But in this specific case, the devs of this game must have taken the line from Molag Bal, or it’s an insane coincidence otherwise.

⁠@@Longshanks1690it might be inspired off what actually happened to the actual Celebrimbor from Tolkien’s legendarium. He was shot to death by arrows and his body was hung upon a pole and used as a banner in Sauron’s army as Sauron attacked the Grey Havens.

Sauron was a Maia of the ancient race of beings known as the Ainur, think of them like angels of middle earth. Gandalf and The Balrogs also are/were maia. He was good once, until the first dark lord Morgoth Corrupted him. Now think of him as a dark fallen Angel.

@@Mr-8-Ball-88Sauron is a shapeshifter. He disguised as Annatar to trick Celebrimbor to make the rings in both the game and original story. In the movies he was never human, he was a fallen Miar. Think Gandalf but evil and far more powerful.
