I have awd and I still bought and use winter tires every winter. Winter tire make such a huge difference. First time I got winter tire I was amazed at the difference it makes.

Different cars equals different weight and traction.Not fair comparison.

comparing it to studed tires is like comparing a Cessna single engine Aircraft with a twin engine fighter jet

What an amateur - full gas at a slippy surface wont get you started.

Neither will all season tires. They're garbage

how can you compare a studded tire with a all season on ice??? of course the studded tire is gonna bean out
@ajs6228 жыл бұрын
I would like to have seen that without the studs in the tires, I have a set of those tires too only my state don't allow the studs. I have found these tires to be awesome. I've never encountered ice that bad yet but I have tested them in deep snow and they would beat any all season tire hands down.

There is no doubt that snow tires are better in the winter than all season radials. Knowing how to drive on the ice and in the snow is paramount. If the automobiles traction control helped you get to the top of the hill, you need to learn more about winter driving.

4x4 with winter tires> awd with winter tires> 4x4 with the best all season tires you can buy> AWD with the best all season tires you can buy= FWD/RWD with a goof brand winter tire> 2WD with the best all season tires > AWD/4x4 with summer tires
@trainiax5 жыл бұрын
Why would you consider whether winter tires would compete with AWD? They're complementary, not mutually exclusive. Sure, a 2WD car with winter tires would out-handle (and maybe even out-accelerate) an AWD car with all-season tires, but an AWD car with winter tires would be better than both.

4x4 doesnt give you traction. 4x4 gives you torque... so a 4x4 with all season versus a FWD with winter tires does not have a chance!

Salvador Nobre Veiga I have an awd with all seasons and it goes it hills with worse conditions that this video no problem
@PaulPi3rce8 жыл бұрын
The hill is steeper than it looks and sheer ice that day. If it gets that icy again this Winter I'll try some awd with all seasons.
@NoRoads2AllRoads8 жыл бұрын
Chance Salyer the tests show that even a non 4*4 with winter tires beats hands down any 4*4 with all seasons. Not to mention the braking distance which is like half
@chancesalyer98018 жыл бұрын
I agree about the stopping and accelerating in ice but in deep snow a fwd with snow tires doesn't really have a chance😂

believe it does... My Honda civic with snow tires on deep snow it just plows through ... depends what your understanding of deep is :D

Here in New Hampshire (4 hour drive from Montreal) the General Altimax Arctic Winter tires are the best cost effective solution to safe Winter driving..period. See for yourself....go to Tire Rack (or anywhere you like) price the others and compare their performance vs their cost. Living in northern New England over the years you quickly find the best Winter tire for the least cost..

@first last Right , tell that to people who slide off the road, can't get out of their driveway,, get stuck in the middle of the road because there is 3 inches of snow and people that drive 10 mph on highway

@@dieselboy77 buddy, I drove from Oswego to Syracuse (upstate new york) and back in a white out so bad plow trucks were off the road. 3 feet of snow and 4 feet of forward visibility on tires so bald they might as well have been racing slicks. You dont need winter tires if you know how to drive.

@@ChefMattAwsome93 Dude, you forget it, it's not about YOU it's about how OTHERS drive. Good luck trying to avoid a car that's sliding towards you while you have all-season tires
