Discussing everything that you did briefly but also incorporating how similar the characters are but very different from where both of them come from the highest of nobles to the lowest stature and all of soul society to one having Shukei Hokutaken having White Angel like wings and a halo while the other one turns into a devil with horns.

While everyone loves a Bankai reveal, I think the reveal of Aizen's Shikai remains one of the best power reveals in the series. It is simply iconic!

I actually think Shinji’s release is the most anticipated and iconic…. Aiden’s turn kinda came outta nowhere… although it was a big WTF moment. Shinji’s was actually an anticipated moment because he was the viazard leader, and he had a few fights without even using it. especially after we found out he was Aizen’s captain.

My only issue with it was we never got any hollow mask drip to go along with it, he should’ve gotten a new mask with a partial horn to show his powers can be restricted less after the Soul society amp at the end of fullbring

When Ichigo fights Goku in a crossover, his ancient Saiyan blood will awaken letting him turn super saiyan, and then when Beerus steps in, he'll resist the destruction energy and remember that even though it was forbidden, his great great great great great great grandmother was actually the daughter of a God of Destruction and Supreme Kai. ^_^

Fun Fact: Aizen's supposed command "Shatter" is actually not his shikai release command. It is simply the command for disengaging his illusions on a target, not the command for the release of the zanpakuto itself. Think about it, whenever he used this command, it's always for dispelling an illusion, never for putting a target under hypnosis. As for what the actual release command of his zanpakuto is, he never stated it. However, we see him performing it on Baraggan but he never said the command. He only told the latter to simply look at his sword. This brings to my next point... Remember when Byakuya commented that Renji being able to release his sword without the command means that he's ready for Bankai? Yes, Aizen performing KS on Baraggan without the command suggests that he too is ready for a Bankai, or perhaps he already achieved it, which is more likely the case.

I need state how much I like your channel. One of the very few anime channels I'm a sub of, been a sub since 30k I think. No obnoxious editing, no annoyingly hyped voiceover, no stupid theories, no unfunny jokes, no clickbait... You're basically the inverse of the average anime youtuber. Your text is very elegant and direct to the point, with some clever jokes here and there but just on the right amount to not distract, the editing is simple so you can keep focus on what's being discussed, your tone for the voiceover is calm and friendly and your flow is pretty good too, not too fast but not too slow either, you ACTUALLY have media literacy and understand what Bleach is all about, we can see your passion for the series, but you also understand its weak points and its plot holes, not being afraid to point bullshit out. The fact that there's no BGM, no jump cuts, no sfx, makes your videos very soothing, it's like I'm hearing a buddy flexing his huge Bleach knowledge on me for an hour every week. Ichimonji is symbolic of how Spirit King candidates lose their names and full identity. It also shows how Ichibei has gone on to essentially rewrite the narrative of the war. Erasure and loss of identity is the core symbolism of his Shikai beneath its lethal capabilities.

I just realized something that I find kinda funny. Ichigo regains his powers and reveals the fullbring shikai in episode 361 of the original anime, and then loses his fullbring bankai in episode 7 of the tybw, so Ichigo only wields the fullbring Zangetsu for about 13 episodes of the anime. It’s easy to forget how little time he has fullbring Zangetsu in the anime because of the gap between the airing of the lost agent and tybw

Gegetsuburi Actually Does Have A Special Abilitiy. In The Manga We See That Every Time He Uses The Shikai Its Apearence Changes. The Flail Has Been Seen With Large Spikes But Few Of Them, Small Spikes But More Of Them, And No Spikes Instead There Are Round Bulges. Presumably He Chooses Which Form He Wanta When He Summon It, But That Is Just Speculation.

Just a small correction about something in the video: Byakuya's release command was never "Die". That was a mistranlation by viz. In the japanese version,it has always been "散れ" (Chire,"scatter"). They just probably thought it was Byakuya saying that to his opponent instead of to his Zanpakutou. They always make some small mistakes like this,like having Lille say he was the last one given a schrift,instead of the first one like it is supposed to be.

It’s insane when you realize that Ichigo has so much Reiatsu that he’s constantly walking around in his shikai. Imagine if others did that. Everyone in Kyoraku’s proximity would be forced to play his games . Aizen with his spiritual pressure control manages to confuse everyone.

If you consider Ganjyu's gutting a half-reveal, the full reveal of Senbonzakura is not in his fight with Ichigo but with Renji, where it's form as thousands of pink blades is on full display.

Unironically, i think that Lt. Matsumoto could absolutely train under Byakuya to unlock her bankai. Haineko and Senbonzakura seem very connected. Iirc, at some point, Haineko's ash form was described as hundreds upon millions of tiny blades. I could see Rangiku's bankai basically being identical to Byakuya, except the collected form would be that of a giant cat which could shatter into billions of microblades made of ash, that Rangiku could control.

Makes me wonder if Aaroniero could have used Kaien's bankai as well if he had one. It's a good thing Kaien never learned bankai. Aaroniero would have stacked that on top of his release mode. He probably would have been a few ranks above 9 as well.

Whether or not he had a bankai we will never truly know, however baised on what we do know about him it is very possible that he did. Though Aaroneiro would not have used it against Rukia as there was no need to, and his rank likely would not change just because of a bankai. Being a gillion his power level would already be far lower than the rest of the espada who are all vastolorde (2 power teirs higher than himself) a bankai may have leveled that gap though.

@potatoskeli He probably would been 6th or 7th. Only 1-4 are Vosto Lords the ones under that are Adjuchas class.

@ladrellhart2063 we don't get confirmation about espadas 7 or 8, but Noitora and Grimmjow are both heavily suggested to also be vastolorde. The only espada confirmed to be an adjuchas is Yammi. Infact at the end of Grimmjow's flashback he is depicted in a manner that suggests he was evolving into a vastolord, though it's true we never get to see that form.

@potatoskeli They did back story on Grimmjow he was trying to get to the Vosto Lord class but he didn't do it in time. 1- 4 are the only Vosto Lords. Check out the lore and data books. However, they did a light novel on the 8th Espada it says he was a Vosto Lord but he downgrade him self for the sake of research after that he joined the Espada so he would have been higher than 8 if he never done that. The Vosto Lords can't release under the dome of Las Noches. They'll destroy the place if they did. Every Espada under the 4th did release under the dome.

I honestly like how hyper specific to situations some of the zanpakuto are. Like Sogyo no Kotowari absorbs energy and shoots it back but if the enemy doesnt use them then the shikai is virtually useless

Captain Ukitake and Captain Kyōraku are most definitely my 2 fav captains in the series. I love their long, detailed, drawn out release commands. Most definitely, Katen Kyōkotsu is my fav shikai of all shikai. Mainly for its childish but deceptively deadly deameanor and the way he uses it in battle. But i wish they did more with Ukitake. I feel like his character was totally wasted, despite what he did in the TYBW Arc. Even then, he lost his life for absolutely no reason.

7:40 This is everything we will ever see of him. Uriyu kept him alive, but destroyed his Shinigami powers. That Shikai was permanently destroyed. 17:45 The release command does make sense for a reflection type. Waves and Thunder usually are environmental factors. And he can also weaponize environmental and his allies attacks. 19:46 I am guessing it is a melee type. Even former 11th division members tend to have those, as can be seen with Renjis. Maybe some contact Kido, like Love?

It would have been cool to see a shikai named Jorogumo (Entangle Jorogumo release command), and its ability ends up being a web of strings that end up restricting the target, and stringing them up in the air while draining their spiritual power/reishi. It also could be commanded to constrict body parts and cut through them or act like a noose/garotte. It would be based on the Jorogumo yokai from Japanese Myth, that is a spider with illusionary powers, and it would constrict and kill it's victims.

I can't remember if Ginjo's Cross of Scaffold is both his Fullbring and Shikai or just purely his Fullbring. I know he goes into Bankai with it, but am unsure if it is due to Scaffold's ability replication or Ginjo actually using Bankai with it.

A potentially missed Shikai is Shinken Hakkyoken. I understand that its not Nanao's and moreso the Ise family's, but it is a Zanpakuto so that's got to be a Shikai release. I'd say that is the final TYBW Shikai

Maybe the fact that no real shikai and bankai were revealed during the lost agent arc explains the why so many people disliked it upon its original release. Many people love anime for their creativd power systems and how those manifest in their universes. The lost agent arc took those people and left them on the cutting room floor.

I've always wonder what Ichigo's true shiki's ability is. Given his certain characteristics and lineage, it can't just be a simple close quarter melee weapon. Personally I've been thinking that that horn of salvation form is one of his shiki's special ability. His theme is usually about "wearing" the power he wields.

Drawing in and condensing the energy around him. We are directly told that in Soul Society with his Getsuga Tensho. It also is how his Bankai works. He draws in power and then condenses it, giving him all of the side effects we note for his bankai abilities (speed, defense, stronger attacks).

I'm not gonna lie- when I read the last ark initially- I honestly thought the Zero division basically didn't have Zanpaktou. Besides Ichibae, I generally the others used their skills of what they were famous for in order to fight.

Wouldn't Ginjo's sword clarify as a shikai after stealing ichigos fullbring to restore his own shinigami powers? I mean he does activate a bankai in their fight, but the sword which is Ginjos fullbring was supposed to be modeled after his zanpakto.

I think Tousen and Unohana arent fully revealed shikai. My theory is Unohana's shikai isnt a shikai at all and actually her manifested Zanpakto spirit similar to Yachiru in the TYBW arc(also the connection of them having the same name as well, Kubo is meticulous like that) and I believe the 2 versions of Tousen's shikai abilities are 2 of 5 based off the senses, the one that done in Uryu being sound and the one used against Zaraki being touch(due to the physical nature of it)

I got the idea when reading the NBFH chapter that the gyaru from the 8th Division released her shikai with that bear form and that her zanpakuto are her fingernails, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

I understand this is manga only, but I disagree with your commentary on Kinpikas ability. Tenjiro used Kinpika to blind his enemies with radiant light (we agree on this) but he was also able to conjure the hot springs water attacks as well as the red water blood replacement ability, using Kinpika.

Did you miss Hanataro's Shikai? Though at this point I can't remember if it was in the manga, in an omake, or anime only. I remember it being a scalpel that could absorb injuries which can use that as fuel to charge a gauge which powers an attack.
