Took me a few days to reluctantly get started on the DLC after hearing this. Never had my hype killed so fast. I just wanted ONE legendary hunt in this game because seeing a shiny legendary in the overworld sounds like such an exciting prospect. Honestly, I'd have been more than happy if even just the Meloetta was shiny-huntable since that's unreleased and since it's a completely different method of spawning it, most of the other ones have been huntable in the last few gens anyway. Should've still not locked them here though, as shiny hunting them in this game would've been much cooler. Imagine the visual of a black Rayquaza in the overworld? Oh well.

I can only figure that they didnt know how to implement shiny odds on a pokemon that only spawns once in the whole game and that is generated when(actually I dont know when it is generated but whatever)

Is it possible that the shiny locks are errors and GameFreak meant to have them huntable? I know the data leakers initially mentioned that they would be available to hunt but then updated it just a day before. If we're lucky, it might just be an issue they're going to fix soon. It would suck for anyone who caught the base forms already after hearing the news though..

If u could just shiny hunt everything then alot of people probably won't even bother with some events. I missed events before and I can understand the frustration of some players but that's how limited time events work. How are exclusive supposed to be exclusive if everyone can come anytime and get it.

So im playing violet and I already have a golurk as well as sinistcha. My question is as followed when egg breeding and not owning the DLC can they hatch a shiny? Yes you can still get the shiny :) They are not locked behind the DLC if you have the Pokemon

Just goes to show that Gamefreak does not care about its playerbase whatsoever. How are you going to shiny lock legends that have been available to shiny hunt before??? Meloetta is one of my favorite legends, and she still, to this day, does not have a method to get her shiny... This was a chance to finally let players get her shiny, but NO!! The Dlc story was fine and the battles were challenging, but God Dammit, I want to shiny hunt these legends like we were able to in the crown tundra. You'd think theyd want to keep us all engaged b4 the next game drops by having us..... oh, idk be able to shiny hunt all these legends like the sw/sh dlc. Hell, people are still shiny hunting with DA and USUM wormholes to this day! What the F happened? Its literally just a one word line of code they can change. Shiny=True. THATS ALL!! This just leaves a bad taste in my mouth and proves that game freak doesn't care about its immensely large playerbase. Excuse me while I go play fan games that are way more thought out than any shit game freak can produce... L for pokemon fans ...

Usually I'll say cry about it but I agree with you especially with the shiny charm and how encounters are 1/1.3k it will be easy to get Shiny legendaries when in other games they were 1/4k or 1/2k with shiny charm. What's the point on trying to make a game better than the last when you don't add the previous features of the last game with some new ones.

Yeah you just need to use BP to increase the pokemon that spawn in whatever biome it is, and then I believe all the starters can just spawn in the wild via random spawns and outbreaks

Luckily i have HOME so i can just simply transfer from Sword and Legends to Violet. Right now i'm doing Union Circle Hack to get myself the Shiny Paradox Beasts, Swords of Justice, Miraidon, Ogrepon and Terapagos. I know it's impossible but it's worth a risk.

It is shiny locked but that is in the Teal Mask, not Indigo Disk so that's why it isn't in this video

The legendaries aren't in raids, they are static spawns. Are you thinking of Pokemon Sword/Shield? You can shiny hunt legendaries there in Dynamax Adventures
