The Alphabet and Letter Identification.
Learning the Alphabet Song by watching the letters is the first step to learn to read.
When children are singing the letters of the Alphabet while their appear on the screen they are learning to associate the Letters of the Alphabet with the Letter names.
Children need to be able to identify the Uppercase and the Lowercase Letters in the English Language. Also, children should learn to correlate the Uppercase Letters with their Lower Case Letter pairs.

High Frequency Words, Sight Words, Dolch Words, Fry Words or Popcorn words help Kids with reading comprehension, Reading Fluency, and Reading Speed.
These words should be memorized. Sight Words are also called High Frequency Words. These words are words that are commonly used in the written language. It is helpful for children to memorize Sight Words because they are used often in books and if children have these words memorized they can read faster and better comprehend what they are reading.
Please revisit the Sight Word Videos often but note that your child does not have to memorize these words before he/she can proceed through the other videos and lessons in the curriculum.
The Sight Words in the Sight Word videos are reinforced when your child reads the the stories in the Practice Books: 1, 2, and 3. You will see the relevant Sight Words before each story and these are the words your child should memorize first.
Sight Words should be practiced often and throughout the learn to read process.
To assist your child's learning of the Sight Words you can print the Sight Words or make your own Flashcards. Practice them often so your child can memorize them and not forget them.

High Frequency Words, Sight Words, Dolch Words, or Popcorn words help Kids with reading comprehension, Reading Fluency, and Reading Speed. These words should be memorized. Have your child practice and memorize the Sight Words for each story before reading each story. To memorize the Sight Words for each story use the Flashcards of the Sight Words addressed in the story before reading the story. The Sight Words are repeated often in other stories to help remind the children of these words (Practice Books: 1, 2, and 3/Sight Word Flashcards).
