Given that Kig-Yar are a matriarchal society in lore, and the females tend to be of higher status than most of the males, they probably have a higher literacy rate than them, as a result of easier access to higher education.

I always liked skirmishers in Reach, too the point where I worked to get the skirmisher nameplate in mcc by killing 1000 skirmishers. Never expected 343 to add them let alone make them all female. Fully expected them to neglect that enemy type entirely. Was happily surprised when I saw them sprint about my infinite campaign playthrough.

I like skirmishers, and if 343 is telling the truth, they might be the first female aliens that we are fighting. Since they won't answer if the drones (Bugs) are male or female. PS be careful there are some hardcore lore people out there, that will explain why they are females in Infinite. Reach Skirmishers are my favorite enemy. They looked so cool, and was fun to fight against. When I saw Skirmishers in Infinite, I got so excited. When I walked up to them, I noticed they didn’t look like they normally do. They didn’t have feathers, and they looked like regular Jackals. I was ok with this immediately, because I remember hearing that the species from Halo Reach almost went extinct because of the battle. I was still glad to see the Skirmishers still made a return, and kept up with the story. Now their my favorite in Infinite.

Turns out, through most Halo games, many of the grunts you fight are females, too, because they have such a large population from the Covenant breeding them rapidly.

I'm really glad we're at the point in Halo when the developers are willing to give us intelligible and accented voices for all the aliens instead of just having them speak gibberish standing in for their languages. It adds so much more personality to each encounter, and the T'vaoans were always my favorites. It's nice to see their matriarchs getting in on the tradition of yelling insults at the Master Chief during a firefight.

The Infinite skirmishers could only be better if they were T'vaoan like in Reach and not Ruuhtians like the common jackals. But at least they are females wich is nice (now we need female Elites). My favorite is when they skeek when you sneak up on them.

My personal headcanon is that the skirmishers armor in infinite is designed after the T'vaoans we see on reach, probably as a way to represent their role on reach as their population has dwindled significantly and as a psychological tactic similar to warpaint to strike fear into marines during battle.

I take back critism of 343 in fear they content cut/ retcon sub species etc.They know the lorecanon and they SHOULD, while lorecanon community masters help em sort it out too. I'm going to assume all the male Skirmishers died on Reach, mostly because in many bird species, males have very colorful feathers and red throat sacks, and the ones in Infinite are very similar in color and lack the throat sack

They didnt die off. Its just 343 calling them jackal skirmishers instead of skirmishers. You see, if you look closely at the snoutbeaks of both tve types in Infinite. They are the same shape and theeth. They are bot of the sub species Ruuthian jackals. Male Skirmishers is reverse in that they have feathers while females dont. Their physique is larger, stronger, evolved on large asteroids in the Kig Yar homesystem. They are much more birdlike, have black feathers, greyish beaks. Sidenote. The Kig yar jacksls in H4/5 is of the Ibe Shan sub species. Im sure 343 will somehow break that and make them be something totally different"because"I swear sometime I just want to fly to Seattle, sit down and talk with the decicionmakers regarding the aliens in the franchise and ask what the blazings are they doing with changing, messing around etc

There's a Skirmisher line referring to bringing honor to T'vao, so that random dude who said these Skirmishers aren't Ruuhtians is just intentionally being an idiot for his own sanity. These T'vaoan models are too similar to the Ruuhtians for his liking so he's pretending they're Ruuhtians. It's just a matter of 343i trying to make the two most bird-like subspecies not look so crazy different as they did in Reach. As for the blog post from 343i, it contradicts older lore, since these females obviously have feathers, but hey, I guess I'd be okay with that retcon.

@@Fourger14 hmm. Yes older lore states the ruuthian females have scales along their neck. But the thing is. They can have both OR its just featherdressing in honor of the Tovoan skirmishers. Its also a possibility their feather plumes are jus mostly on the top of their head but alot of it. Anyway. We wont know for sure including seeing them without armor. And the left handed ruuthians along with Tovoan skirmishers seems to take a break from conflict to breed back up the numbers. Community and 343 lorecanon masters need to cooperate more to get it understandable and straight all of this

Its not the true Kig yar Tvoan skirmishers. These are just Kig yar Ruuthian jackals that have a role as skirmishers and are female at that. But Im sure 343 wants to ditch what Reach srt in stone for " reasons " without no apparent explanation. Halo forbid if they just could add in THE Skirmishers from Reach in addition to these new ones, but common excuse would possible be " its to confusing, poor players wont understand so lets ditch whats established and " fix " whats not broken " Im ranting yes but if Im wrong, well glad to see female kig yar fighting with their shield wielding males. 343 did good in NOT pay homage to left handed jackals again because reasons and eff one pretty cool trait of the HCE to H3 jackals

That because we talking about Halo Infinite where the devs has confirmed all skirmishers are females. I don't know the lore exactly, but apparently, all the males are dead or something and these are wrongly dressed and detailed or something. Tbh it has been 11 months, I don't remember all details, but it has been confirmed that in halo infinite they are all females.

Now I wanna repeat, NOT all skirnishers in halo SERIES are females, it just so happens that all observed in halo infinite are. Why? I don't know, it also seems that they are wearing the wrong armour or something. Here is a quote from Halopedia paragrah 8. "Escharum would again make use of skirmishers during the Battle for Zeta Halo, but only female Ruuhtian skirmishers have been known to be observed." Now do I agree that this make sense? No, but remember Amazon tribes used only females as their warriors, and that is real life history!

The two voice files for the same line are probably a male and female version. Skirmishers aren't one sex; they're a different subspecies entirely. There are male and female Skirmishers.

Nope according to the devs, the skirmishers in Infinite is ONLY females, but of course lore wise (For example in reach) there were males. Theres plenty of hardcore lore guys in the comments. You can go ask them. All I know is what the devs says. Jackals are male, Skirmishers are females in infinite. Thanks for watching and like always, wherever you are, whoever you are. @@PhaserFelix They certainly don't sound like they're just female. It's not that I'm doubting the explanation, it's just that someone in that department at 343 was obviously confused at some point. Like thinking a moth is just a male butterfly, or a butterfly is a female moth.

@@PhaserFelix You're far too deferential to the devs, especially when existing lore contradicts that depiction. I highly doubt The Banished only recruited male Jackals and only female Skirmishers. It was probably an oversight on the part of a dev, not a catastrophe.

(I always call my friends by their name) Anyway there is no "proof" of female grunt and jackals. We can only assume that there gotta be a female jackal and grunt. But no where in a game (And please don't bring in the books, movies and other outside stuff into this) has they said that the grunt you just killed is a female.

Sadly I don't have them anymore (Afterall it a lot to have) If you have the game you can simply extract them yourself. It is quite easy. If not then you could download the video and cut out the ones you want. If that is not enough, I could look into downloading the game and extracting them again. But sadly I barely got any time anymore, so it could take weeks even months before I have done it.

@@hmmcxreviews6602 The one I used which was really easy is Wwise unpacker. Took me about 5 min to learn and use it. Then again, people have told me I am quick to learn stuff. Anyway you can extract it as OGG or MP3 files using it. Tho I recommend MP3
