I'm very happy with my RK RO-328, yet it's the first all solid guitar I've played. It would be nice to hear a professional opinion about them and how it compares to others. I personally can't put the guitar down, love the tone, sound and V neck.

The Cort Gold A-6 is the sleeper. Cort has a factory in China with some real craftsmen and real quality control, so much guitar for the money. Very hard to find in the US but they are VERY popular in Asia.

Yamaha has reissued their Red Lable series and there are a couple models of all solid wood available for under $1000. A lot of guitar for the money.

Yeah, but these Red Label Yamahas sounds like $3-4K Martin, so it's completely different category than Cort and Orangewood mentioned here :D :D :D

The all solid ones are the Japanese models and they are over 1000.

@@morganghetti The FS3 model is solid mahogany back and sides with solid sitka spruce top and sell for about $850. They are made in China. Go to Sweetwater and look it up.

So what about Yamaha Red Label ....or the Alvarez masterworks series??? Those are probably some of THE BEST as far as bang for the buck I have heard !!! Especially some of the Yamaha Red Label models !!!! Also it may or may not make the under 1000 range ?? BUT a Guild D40 sounds GREAT also !!!!! Jus mho!!!!

The Fender Paramount series are great, surprised he didn't review them. I'm a spruce and mahogany guy, I've owned a bunch of all solid guitars. Guild 140's are sturdy and sound good but not great. Cort Gold, same. Alavarez Masterworks are the best value in my opinion with the Fender Paramounts a close second. Epiphone Masterbilt acoustics are a great value although I have a personal issue with the sticker around the soundhole. A paper rosette shrieks "CHEAP GUITAR" to me but that's my bias. I have yet to check out the all solid Recording King and Blueridge guitars.

Maybe you should put a some interest in Guild, Seagull and Parkwood too. And also talk about the nuts lenghs because i think nobody never talks about but for me i prefer from far the 44,5 mm (like the Martin and many other good brand) that give a much better confort in playing than with the 43 mm we see every where and too much for my taste. You misspelled Alvarez . . . . and I own a Martin D10e 01 all Sapele and it sounds amazing and is really well built. You also didnt include any of the Westerly collection guilds which are all wood at $1000, F-150 and D 140.

I have Cort Gold O8 and it is outstanding for its price! Cort Gold O8 has pau ferro back and sides with torrified sitka spruce

The marketing of Cort guitars in the USA is VERY spotty and for a good reason - they make the guitars in China for MANY well known USA sold guitar brands. Nailing down WHICH ONES is difficult but the candidates are obvious - Orangewood, Alvarez, Epiphone, Luna, Eastman, you name it, if it's all solid wood and under $1000 and from China I think there is a VERY GOOD chance it's really made by Cort. In Asia, there are MILLIONS of acoustic guitar players, some of whom are INCREDIBLY SKILLED and they KNOW guitars, and the Cort's are VERY VERY highly prized guitars since US $1000 in Asia is like $3000 in the USA for the average guy doing local gigs and such!

Both are great tonewoods. If you like more mellow guitar tone, mahogany works pretty well. If you like solo acoustic, rosewood seems to work well.

All solid guitar with sikta spruce top and mahogany back and sides vs solid (top-back) guitar with sikta spruce top and rosewood back and side , which one i should go for at same price? Does only laminated sides make that difference?

Personally, I would go all solid spruce/mahogany because it will age better over time (years not months) but it really depends on what sound you like. If you can play one of each get the one that sounds best to you and you’ll be happy no matter what others prefer.

I was going for a martin sapele model but when I played it I was underwhelmed. I ended up with a martin x series that to me sounded way better, was nicer to play and was half the price. ( used example but new they are about 2/3 price of the sapel e model....ooo 10 e , I think.)
