When they're crossing the pole S(a) = L(a)/54 let it be equation 1 S(b) = L(b)/34 let it be equation 2 Since these trains are moving in opposite direction, so their relative speed and length will be the sum of their speeds and lengths. So When they're crossing each other S(a) + S(b) = L(a) + L(b)/46 let it be equation 3 From equation 1 and 2 we get L(a) = 54 S(a) L(b) = 34 S(b) Put these in equation 3 and we get S(a)/S(b) = 3/2 i.e 3:2
