When I was a kid, I had a Stretch Armstrong. My younger brother and I wanted to see how far we could stretch the guy. At the top of the stairs was a landing that overlooked the stairs. My brother sat on the landing and held Armstrong’s hands while I want to the bottom of the stairs and grabbed his feet. Just as I started to swing, Armstrong ruptured on his side, from his elbow to his hip. That slimy sticky goo went everywhere: in my hair, on my face, and into the carpet on the stairs. It was a disgusting mess and great fun.

The "discovery" was absolutely hilarious. I noticed that in the slow mo the first times around. I think it's because the ink used very slightly weakens the rubber material.
@Aenonar2 жыл бұрын
The injection mold for creating the skin would have a sharp angle where the crotch is, which would make less rubber collect at that point vs cavities like the hands and feet which would collect more rubber. Hence why the hands and feet barely inflate at all and the crotch area is the weakest.

Nah. It has to be something to do with the formation of the item itself. My money is that that's where the injection is for the mold's lower part.

If you're curious why it keeps breaking at the crotch, there's one major factor at play, the connection point between the legs, the arms connect to the larger body individually but the legs connect to a single point together, even when you just pull one leg or the other, strain is put on that one point regardless causing more wear to that space, combine that with the fact it becomes the point of the highest resistance thanks to bending externally during inflation compared to it's natural concave design, both factors together equal repeated crotch devastation

That's a brilliant insight, it definitely explains why this was more than a coincidence. Makes me wonder, what if they got their hands on a stretch that hadn't been filled up, would he have blown up even bigger? Though I'm guessing based on how strong the material is (I honestly didn't expect it to be that strong), probably the new weakest point would be where they cut it for the hose? (Not 100% sure since it kinda boils down to how the zip ties mitigate that, or other stuff like that...)

First video I’ve seen of you guys. Just randomly popped up. Glad it did! You now have a new sub. Random, funny, and experimental. Just perfect! ❤️🇦🇺

Could you record freezing bubbles? Be a pain to get footage of but I bet it would look cool

How would you freeze a bubble without it popping first?

Back in the 70s I had his enemy, the Stretch Monster. I did actually cut it to see what was inside and saw that exact same glue stuff. I put it in the fridge and the glue went rock hard, but obviously it just warmed up and started leaking once we took him out.

I think no one realized the first and second guy were starting to have a pee stream come out of their crotch until they split apart. A man's the most vulnerable when he pees, I guess.

I wonder if the "filling" is injected with a needle in the crotch during manufacturing. Would explain the consistent failure point Edited: I no longer think this is the case, see Johnathan's comment below
@MonotoneGaming2 жыл бұрын
you'd think it would be inserted through the neck before the head was put on, but your theory sounds the most logical
@W1gglePuppy2 жыл бұрын
The diameter of the needle would have to be tiny to only show at maximum inflation. In turn you would need an extortionate amount of pressure to push a viscous fluid through said needle. More likely to do with the construction of the body itself.

@@W1gglePuppy you make a solid point.
@W1gglePuppy2 жыл бұрын
@@LuvLikeTruck I was wondering if it's say the location of the input nozzle in the injection moulding process. Then I thought its probably blow moulded. Maybe there's just a slight defect in the mould, tiny bur or bump that creates a natural weak spot.

@@W1gglePuppy A tiny needle might be adequate to remove air/bubbles after inserting the filling via the neck hole, however....though I don't imagine air bubbles in there would even matter very much.
