"My hobby is swimming." Here , it is present simple tense . It is not necessary that , "is/am/are/was/were" followed by "V+ing" represents continuous tense always. Here "Swimming" looks like a Verb , but since it is Verbal Noun (Gerund) as well , it functions as a Complement .
