The country beside the tourist places is so beautiful, the people are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, the nature great.. For my other hobby, paragliding, perfect. Oranda is a impressing goldfish and very popular, you get nearly everywhere a good quality. He don`t likes, like all round goldfish, cold water below 12 degrees. best 18-22.

@@migs671 It depends , from where the Oranda is coming from. If you have japanese ones, they even can stay at winter time for 3 month around 15°. ( I have had iapanese Orandas 30 years ago, was breeding them, and testet with some to stay over winter outside below ice. They survived but oranda generally prefer at Winter 15 ° . If you have tropical Orandas, like Thai, Malaysia, Indonesia, these fish don´t know what is winter ! At Thailand the ponds have all around the year between min 20-28/max 29/30 °. This Orandas you need to lead very slowly towards 18/20 ° and watch them regulary. If they are presenting applied fins, looking apathetic, it is better to push them up to 20/21 degrees. You have to try that carefully ! Over all you can say, all goldfish which are very round , they feel much more comfortabe at 20-24 degrees . But if you are breeding, you can start with some to keep them from the beginning outside at lower temperatures. It will need F1 / 2/3/4 decades that the fish get a natural behaviour for colder temps and you will anyway loose every year some of them. But the ones , who are resisting, these you take for berreding on in a row. After 4-8 years you will have stronger Orandas. My tipp, buy at a local breeder in your country domestic Orandas from a good bloodline. General the goldfish here for example at europe they love 20-24 ° max. You see it, when the fish feel fine. My tamasaba bloodline remains outside below ice, no pumping, at 3-4 °. Cause they are round to, I needed 15 years to get them breed by breed stronger and stronger. Why Oranda, why not a beautiful Wakin, the strongest goldfish. Of course wakin HQ are much more expansive then Oranda but you will have no problems. This is my personal opinion based on 50 years of experience, but it is not a guarantee ! Perhaps other goldfish experts have a different mind !

Most import is a huge tank minimum 300 Liter. And waterchange 50 % all 2- 3 weeks depends how many fish inside

I started keeping fancy goldfish years ago but now I only keep normal goldfish. The struggle to swim, the swim bladder problems, the eyes being covered by the wen, bubbles hanging off the eyes, wens so heavy they cant stay up right. The list goes on and on. In the end I found myself keeping normal bodied goldfish instead. Far nicer to look at and a much better quality of life

This is inside the genes. If te fish is inactive on the ground, it could be alot of disease. you find all common informations at google. If not I contact you next monday.

Pardon, if you don`t have any knowledge about goldfish you should not talk like this. Goldfish is a complete domesticated fish. He has no habitat at nature. so he has not to hunt or to protect himself. No ressources of nature are exploited or depleted as with all other aquarium fish. it is the fish for luck and happyness...
