My attention span is lower than usual this morning and it's the only thing shorter than my memory. I'll have to come back and watch again, you zipped thru pretty quick. Not complaining, I ❤ your videos. Thank You.

No worries! Watch whenever you can! I will try to slow down a little bit next time.

@@Engineers_Perspective I watch all your videos multiple times anyway. This series is quite an undertaking, not sure how many Bridges there are in Kansas to talk about, maybe a few over the Ar-Kans-US River 😁😁 I have a story I could tell you about The Melan Bridge in Topeka that was replaced by the North Kansas Ave Bridge. Memories ☮

Point of Order: the Talmadge Memorial Bridge in Savannah is also a cable stayed bridge. It opened in 1991 - a couple years after the Dames Point Bridge and 12 years before the Sidney Lanier Bridge. I’m not surprised that so many bridges in Jax made the list. The St Johns River is quite wide as it passes through a major metropolitan area and one of the larger sea ports on the east coast of the U.S. Im kind of surprise the Buckman Bridge also in Jax at 3.5 miles in length didn’t warrant a mention.

I didn't mention the talmadge memorial bridge as it isn't the harp style cable stayed like the other two. The talmadge is a fan style cable stayed bridge. When doing research, I compiled a list of 42 bridges that had the potential to be in this top 15. While the buckman bridge didn't make the list, it was close to being an honorable mention. Thanks for watching!

I don't know about you, but I think the Royal Park Bridge might actually be cursed.

That's what I'm thinking. Don't ride your bike across it!

I heard “Buy ya a Honda” bridge and thought “wait, what?”
@Engineers_PerspectiveАй бұрын
I looked up the pronunciation and that's what I heard haha
@ron.owensbyАй бұрын
@@Engineers_Perspective Actually that is how the "locals" pronounce it (in english). In Spanish it is pronounced Bah-EE-ah. Honda is pronounced Honda 😁 It is a Spanish phrase meaning deep bay. Being a Railroad Bridge fan I had to look it up When I lived in Jacksonville I had (former FEC) railroad tracks running thru my backyard!

Let me give you the local pronunciation for the Suwannee River [swan-knee] and Biscayne is [biss-cane] and apalachicula [app-uh-latch-chee-cola]. Native American names are hard to pronounce.
@Engineers_PerspectiveАй бұрын
And that was even after i looked up pronunciations for all of these

@@Engineers_Perspective It's easier just to go with the local pronunciation now if you want the actual pronunciation of Suwannee River [sue-wha-knee]
