To think that the girls in this short were done by none other than Freddy Moore, who was known for his work on female characters in some Disney movies. He was known for his work on the centaurettes in Fantasia (1940) and the mermaids in Peter Pan (1953). The mermaids were among his last known works before his death 1952.

@foxhound13 IT was never a short. It was just a segment inside a full-sized movie by Disney. He made several of those after WW2 (example: Three Caballeros) because he was short of cash & these were cheaper to make than a full-length story like Pinocchio or Dumbo .

Like from what I've heard Jazz came from a mix of Southern Black and French influence eg New Orleans and there's a fair bit of Jewish music sounds in some of it too.

They managed to modernize it by censoring it and banishing the original to wherever they put the stuff they don't want anyone seeing anymore. You wouldn't think a little animated, featureless, side-boob would be that damaging to kids, but we must sanitize art no matter the cost, right? man, i used to have a VHS tape of this cartoons with the song "Rock around the clock" :) but not anymore :( it was tape/ recorded over by me due to being greedy on recording other stuff was i was very little.

I had the same tape! It had various cartoon music videos. I remember there being an Elvis song where Pluto is escaping and saving another animal from a fire in a building on roller skates
