Armed Forces radio used to play this as 'filler' because AFRTS does not play commercials. Wonderful little piece. I never knew the name of it. One day I heard it on NPR and, long story short, some polite tech told me the name of it. Brings back wonderful memories. Thank you, Stanley.

Had this song been called "Victory" or "Ambition" itd had hundreds of k of visits. Its just its name that plays against itself, as a reminder of how this society we live in was founded by taking 3 and 4 yo children to work in factories around Newcastle and the rest of the uk during the beginning of the industrial revolution. The musical quality of this work has nothing to envy to that of Mozart or Beethooven, the problem being everytime we are less capable to appreciate real beauty in this brutish industrialized modern world, as proven by the fact Stanley Jordans debut álbum from which this piece of art is taken got to the top of the jazz charts in the US when it first appeared. We are definitely going in the wrong direction, as weve always have from the start of the industrial revolution. So glad to be on the side of indigenous tribal peoples all around he world: societies where the growth takes place inside the soul of their individuals, not just around them, as they have enough spare time to reflect on which path is the best to take for the whole community to become mentally and emotionally healthier. Not to mention that if we really want to improve the climate conditions of the Planet, them, the indigenous tribal people, are the REAL guardians of the environment, as proven by countless studies by the World Resources Institute, i.e., where its stated the land under the care of the indigenous tribal people all around the word presents on average 11 times less deforestation than the land owned by governments or the private sector. Never be afraid to follow your hearts path.

Close, but not exact. Without the industrial revolution we would not have that guitar, amps, the magic touch vinyl lp, computers or the internet. The answer is to grow yourself yes, but never lose yourself while navigating the necessary evil the modern world is. We are too fast yes, and changing for the sake of change. I keep an even keel and haven't changed much since I too bought this lp and many others.

@@tompaul2591 "withou the industrial revolution we would not have that guitar...". You think Stanley Jordan's talent and artwork is due to that specific guitar?. He wouldnt have been named Stanley Jordan but his essence would have taken him to a beautiful world where his love for humankind would have been appreciated accordingly. Sorry, got no more time.

This song has been an inspiration to me since I bought a vinyl copy of Magic Touch in 1985, but it's even more amazing to see him perform it..
