They are so sweet, some more skiddish than others, but all are very happy, even the slightly neurotic foxes. The singular way they vocalize is such a sweet, mixture of laughter and ecstasy. I find your videos to be uplifting, and help to raise awareness about this amazing species, as the saying "like a fox in a henhouse" portrays foxes to be villains, when they are showing their intelligence and cunning. I love to see them enjoy affection from humans; it makes me realize that there are still a few good, genuinely altruistic people in the world. Isn't a fox shaul something that was popular in the 1920's; I didn't realize that foxes were raised for their coats still, assuming that fur is offensive, cruel and obsolete! I can't imagine anyone that is a person of quality who would wear fur.

All these foxes have such a distinct personality, some of them know exactly what they want (which is egg obviously) and others are more pensive, debating wether they really want to go close to the tall furless creature, and wether that egg is really worth it.

Vixie seemed so polite. if anyone's curious about Valentine's mouth like i was, it seems to be a genetic deformity called Gingiva Hyperplasia, where his gums constantly continue to grow. i also found notes that this effects fur quality in those afflicted, but i havent verified that

Yes I was immediately worried for Valentine and wondering what was wrong with his mouth. Thanks for the clarification. He looks like he's an elder fox and I thought maybe his teeth had fallen out and he had a really bad infection. Poor boy. I hope he isn't in any pain. I'm glad he is being looked after by a good steward of the Earth. This is the way humans are supposed to be to the Earth and nature. Not hostile and destructive.

For anyone wondering about valentines mouth Valentine arrived at Save a Fox when he was a year old, after it was discovered he had a genetic deformity called Gingiva Hyperplasia, meaning his gums never stop growing, requiring annual surgery to be trimmed. “When the foxes are born with those deformities, the fur farms don’t necessarily want to use those foxes for breeding again,” explains Raines. So, they call her. They call her when they have foxes who are sick or have deformities, have been rejected by their mother, or who are born with poor quality fur. “We have four foxes who were born without guard hairs. Most foxes have a double coat layer, and they need that double coat layer in order to be pelted [killed and skinned], for their fur to be useful.”
