Finding room for an Active Probe is a good idea if it's going to be the mech you are piloting. That extra sensor range helps with detecting enemies in good time.

There really is no competition with the medium pulse laser builds. Makes the expert difficulty feel like easy mode.

Yeah clan pulse lasers have always been overpowered in any iteration. If i remember certain Variants of clans mechs are banned in tournaments due to the amount of pulses they carry just because of how efficient they are.

I am planning to use this build with 3Ppc and 2 Lp. Ppc for long range less accurate but higher damage shootin and Lp for sniping mech parts.

I have been having alot of fun with a direwolf with 3 guass rifles. Lots of range, very little heat. Ammo for days.

Been wondering how the regular AC's compare to the UAC's and LBX's. Could you do a good regular AC+lasvomit build or is it better to just stack a lot of AC's together so you can fire more at range, faster than you can do with lasers? : )

This seems like as good of place as any to ask: roughly how many trees can you max out by the end of the game? I was wondering if I should tough it out through ER lasers unupgraded so I can do pulse lasers, lrms, PPCs and gauss for a good combo of Pulse cheese + LRM support + a PPC/Gauss sniper. Then max out heat related and armor, skipping structure. Would I need to drop Gauss and LRMs?

It largely depends on how early you max out your salvage shares. For me I was spending honor to level mech techs and Scientists and salvage fairly equal until about a third of the way through the game, so towards the end I had plenty of research points but not enough salvage to research the things I wanted. I would have to do aa new play through and MAX salvage as early as possible to give you a more accurate response. At this point I am fairly confident in saying that you can't even get close to maxing all the tech trees unless you spend a couple hundred hours after the campaign in the simulator collecting boxes.

@@battlehymn6389 I did max out salvage pretty early. I'm maybe 500 salvage below what I should have because my Starmate really wanted the Adder (I even made him a Kit Fox with 2 erppc) and didn't want to restart a mission after I forgot to buy more salvage. Sounds like it might be good to skip ER Lasers, then. I watched a TTB video of a playthrough and it seems like he had researched all of Gauss, ER Lasers, and most of Pulse. Little research into AC, LRM, or ERPPC, so probably 3 weapons or so on top of armor, structure, and heat is my guess.

You can’t have it all. But you don’t need to. Level l or ll upgrades for every system is easily achievable. I would bother with level lll only if you are really into a certain type of weapon or equipment.

@@nuclearghandi2899er lasers are definitely one to max out. Armor and structure too. Maybe sensors. Beyond that, stick to favorite weapons.

Aren't pulse lasers the endgame builds? Then er smalls seems pretty overpowered in midgame even unupgraded
