one advice i give you is that if you want to recycle villager trades instantly, you can put an emerald in a stone cutter to create like shards and if you right click them to villagers you will recycle their trades

I have honestly started to adore silent gear after ATM8. One of my friends found it has a command to export all the part details into a spreadsheet and we spent probably hours pouring over it and min-maxing every single part on our weapons to make some absurdly powerful tools

The goal isnt to beat the pack as fast as you can and then move onto the next, the real goal is to just have fun and play with a bunch of mods all mostly custom balanced to work well together. And you can get endgame silet gear WELL before you will ever see the end of the pack. And also you DO have to fight stuff ti complete the pack, including some rather tough enemies, which tells me you havent ever even finished the pack to begin with (otherwise you would know that already) so your opinion on it is kinda irrelivant bc you havent experienced the whole thing. Silent gear is probably in the top 3 most useful and overpowered mods in the pack (the other 2 imo being the mobgrindingutils and apotheosis)

Oh, one more silent gear tip - amethyst gives you silk touch in tip form. Super powerful early on.

Silent gear gives you access to some abilities like silk touch and fall damage immunity through certain materials (depending on the modpack of course). To browse them in jei, simply type "sgear" followed by the effect or part type you're interested in (e.g: "sgear binding"). You might have to use some keystrokes to get it to display the info you want, but the tooltip should explain that.

If you plan on using spawners those silverfish ones you destroyed in the cave are amazing to silk touch. Silverfish ones already have amazing stats and need the least resources to get them to crazy spawn rates.

Yeah atm9 is also way bigger than atm8. I start3d out with atm9 as my first modpack ever (except pixelmon) and I was hella confused. There are so many things to do and honestly a lot of it overlaps each other/does the same. I'm working on hust making my own little modpack but im going to miss the quests. Atm is just a bit annoying with how much you get that you just don't care about. I don't care about technical mods, and all that power stuff. I just like exploration and minecolonies (the only reason I ever go back to forge)

​@@Fiemus9big mistake lol, starting with atmX (any of them) is a TERRIBLE experience bc allthemods kinda requires you to have a fairly good grasp of most of the baseline mods like AE2, modgrindingutuls, apotheosis, etc that are basically required to get anywhere in the pack, you can do it but i pitty the pain you were probably going thru. Ive been playing modded for almost as long as mods have been a thing and even i struggle with a few of the mods in it still (Applied Energistics hurts my head so much lol even these days when i know the ins and outs of it i still manage to fuck up my system atleast 3 times before i get it off the ground)

Should make a brass pickaxe head which is a silk touch plus it is diamond level but you can also tip it with a diamond to get the durability up.

1. You can mend iron with copper they're the same tier material 2. Amethyst shard makes Silk Touch tip 3. Change pickaxe heads to Obsidian for 3000 durability

Loved the video! I think the speed upgrade for the furnace is perfectly efficient, the last time I read the description it said it halves the cook time but takes twice the fuel

nah it's twice the fuel compared to how much it cooks. one coal smelts 4 items with a speed upgrade

About enchanting, the eidolon soul enchanter is a good way to go about it since you could upgrade your enchants like fortune, unbreaking, looting etc. To level 10( or 9 since I don't know what apotheosis did to the limit in atm9 :D) and I think it's cooler and cheaper than just adding enchants in an anvil until you max them out :D Also also you should socket good apotheosis gems you get from chests/dungeons if that hasn't changed from atm8

Yeah apotheosis is pretty much the exact same as atm8 as far as i can tell with maybe a slight decrease in the spawn rates of apotheosis mobs but i havent played enough to confirm that or if its just bad rng so far

i find the best way to find the bunny slippers is to find those generation on stilts out on the surface. The one with the environmental accumulator. They have either cat slippers or bunny slippers

Not entirely true, they can have ANY artifact in them... the only artifact that isnt random chest loot is the steak which comes from cows with a super rare chance

In ATM modpacks, I always rush to Allthemodium tools/weapons to get Indestructible stuff and never really used Silent Gear, but I can see the draw of it. I actually miss Tinker's myself, but I know peeps got tired of it eventually. Silent Gear seems like it bypasses a lot of Tinker's 'work,' but I actually liked that work using different layouts of the machines...ha

Gold top in early silent gear tools is a good one as it gives out a flat bonus to mining speed, for late game redstone tip is the best as it gives out a multiplicative modifier to mining speed, redstone tip is good for swords as well

Gold is trash at any stage of the game for the exact same reason as it is in vanilla, the durability is basically worthless... you are better off making an iron one and upgrading it

Also redstone tip is not the best lategame tip (the reason being that you cant mine faster than insta break and you can easily instabreak every breakable block in the game without it so its just redundant), the best lategame tip is one of the end game silent gear materials, infact every single best material for silent gear is an endgame silent gear meterial

Ok im late as fuck here but i can help, its not an item. In your inventory up by your characters head theres a little audio button, press that and it opens the silence menu that displays every single sound in the game and can be sorted by sounds that you are hearing or heard recently tho it can be annoying bc some of the sound names are misleading so sometimes it takes a little bit of trial and error to figure out which sound it is youd like to mute, it also doesnt have an upper limit to how much you can mute either tho ofc id only recommend doiing it to things like mobs that you have farms for like he did *side note with an ounce of humor, never mute creepers 😃 its horrifying*

When you were fighting that boss you said you had to swing faster or you will die. Actually swinging faster make you do less damage. If you pause till the sword under your aiming redical is full then the weapon does its full damage. Otherwise you just poke for 1 to 2 damage.

Yes but having only one on means you can open and close it with a single hotkey rather than digging around your inventory, and if you need more than one backpack you need to learn loot priority and stop picking up things like cobble and dirt that you can get in literally infinite amounts whenever you need them. I can exolore for HOURS on one diamond tier backpack withour leaving anything valuable behind, it literally just comes down to "dont pick up garbage" this is bc the backpacks can hold THOUSANDS of stacks of items if you actually use upgrades, you should never have inventory issues once you get a backpack

If it didnt then im not going to be touching villagers literally at all in this pack bc that change is the biggest load of bullshit mojang has ever pushed (yes even compared to chat reporting) they butchered villagers bc they want ppl to use the other enchanting methods but they didn tuodate the other methods to make them actually viable they just brutally murdered the only vanilla enchanting option that was bearable to deal with, gotta love spamming 50 fuckinpickaxes in the table to get fucking silktouch ir spending 3 weeks scouring the world for a singular mending book out of the 10+ you need for your gear 😐 oh i hate that change so much, im actually learning modding specifically to make a mod the rolls back that change to how it was before and im gonnd keep that mod up to date for every single version of minecraft that will ever release and on every single mod loader that comes out bc nobody should be forced to deal with that bs

Paxels are super meh until mid game materials are available (the nether AND end really) otherwise its better to just make the normal tool types bc they each perform slightly better than the paxel does so until you can build an instabreak paxel, dont build one bc it will always be slower than a normal tool for the job would be

Yeah, its alot better in general tho bc it doesnt force you to do a bunch of tedious, circular progression to get really good tools, and it also just feels better to play bc making a good tool goes from like an hour of work to a 15 minute session of brainstorming which parts you want to use and then slapping them together bc most of the mats are just regular ores that you smelt normally and then turn into tools

So fair warning to anybody who finds a jungle temple that opens with a large maze of pressure plates. Almost 3/4 of every block there is a silverfish infested block. I found that out the hard way when I hit one with an apotheosis sword that does damage to nearby mobs... lets just say the entire temple turns to swiss cheese and there are hundreds of silverfish that aggro on you... It got to the point where I wasn't sure if my character or computer was going to die first.

Is there a mod in this pack that makes it so dark underground or has Minecraft changed since I last played it? I saw "Dark Mode Everywhere" but that seems to affect GUI's only.

Yes, its in your like render distance settings area, its an entire tab labeled "true darkness" should be near the bottom of the list of visual settings tabs. I honest to god dont recommend playing with it bc it makes caving basically impossible without nightvision if you actually want to find any ores, and ofc it adds absolutely no upsides to make up for that incredibly annoying downside, even tho it does look cool

Late to the party, but you can put industrial hemp seeds in the botany pot, but for some reason it needs to be in a stack of 1, it doesn't work when in a stack of multiple seeds.

They are bugged and dont work in atm9, they dont go in the hand slot like they are supposed to, you CAN equip them but then you cant ever take them off (so for example if yoy equip a pair of leather ones and then find a pair of duamond ones, you are now stuck using the leather ones) bc the slot they are equipping to doesnt exist, i soent 6 hours yesterday trying to figure it out and made a bug report abt it to the atm team, so even tho it was months ago that bug may have been a problem then too and just gone under the radar

Yes and no, you need to get into mekanism a bit to make them and mekanism machines are some of the most annoying crafting recipes istg even the basic machines make you go thru like 5 different crafting steps to make them

I forget, is the snad mod installed in this pack? Sugar cane grows faster on snad. For anything dirt, grass, or sand it grows at the same rate.

It was in atm8 ik but even still snad isnt good anymore... it doesnt work with redstone clocks like it used to which is why it was so good, now you can just plant stuff normally bc the increased growth rate really isnt that imoressive either, its not even double speed

I know this is super irrelevant, but has anyone played with the ars energistique mod?(if I spelled that wrong so would you) I don’t play a ton of mod packs and the few I have I stuck to refined storage. If there’s ars compatibility with ae2 though and it’s something that anyone has high opinions of, I might make the leap
