Thanks I may make some of these mods to my Anet A8 and keep it as a second printer.

Should have put the aly lathe work segment out as video on Sunday for your new show called “Subtractive Manufacturing Sunday”

My first was the Anet A8, like you modified and repaired like crazy. I don't have your patience and just give it away. I now use the Snapmaker Artisan, doing good prints at 40cm³, laser and CNC 4D. I would not go back!

You could probably easily modify the z top and bottom brackets to use the MK4 z/x axis. There's also a remix to use the MK3 toolhead with it. I'm putting together a printer with the MK4 Z/X and a modified MK3 toolhead using an orbiter 2.0 extruder. Also, give Klipper a look. It's pretty awesome for "modernizing" older printers without having to replace mainboards or anything.

(Some) Voron spool holders embed ptfe tube into design (on top), so spool rolls on ptfe tube instead on pla/petg part of holder.

25:54 you could have grabbed Prusa’s design. Wasn’t that 3d printed originally (now injection moulded). My 2 mk3s have good tension roll characteristics.
