as for teacher pension (and most govt or govt related business such as phone companies..)by the time you retire, you get a certain percentage of your best 5 years average, and for each year of service, you get 2% up to a max of 70% (i.e. 35 years) to accumulate that percentage.For example you best 5 years average is say $6000 per month and you have taught for 35 years (get 70%). Your retirement monthly income will be $6000 x 0.7 = $4,200

了解~ 非常清楚~ 我記得沒錯加拿大 也蠻推行ESL program ,which means that Teaching English as a second language, 我的任職學校很多都是從加拿大的教育系統出來教書的老師,除了這些上述所講到的執照之外,TESOL 證照也是另外一個證明,Especially for 外籍老師想要來台灣教書的話,教育部也會規定這些外師需要這張證書才可來台任教。
BC Teacher Candidate路過, 加拿大不同省份的要求不一樣, 如果你兒子要去加拿大別的省份當教師, 記得看一下他們的official website唷~

@CanaEnglish2 жыл бұрын
I think this only applies to permanent teaching positions :) I’m not 100%sure about the stats, but I think teachers get 11 days of 100% sick days and 120 days of short term disability for 90% pay.

You were talking a lot of expanses and salary, you should make a list of your all expanses in the beginning and ending of this clip. We will know better the overall situation. That we don’t have to go around the clip content again.
I doubt there will be many overseas qualified teachers who are able to speak like yours. Even if they study in Canada, it is hard to master your level of English. If one wants to be a teacher in native English speaking countries, they must teach science and maths subjects to be competitive in the job market.

19% tax? It can be right. You have f-tax, p-tax, EI, CPP and the benefits contributions. So you take home after tax and Ben. Income will usually around 60%-70% unless teachers really having special treatment. On the other hand, teachers pension is DBPP right ? so it more inlined with your wage and years of service rather than contribution. Which is 55%-80% of the average of your 5 highest income years depending on the your years of service
@CanaEnglish2 жыл бұрын
Hi Edwin! The numbers we provided are based on each paycheck. The percentages would be similar to the number you provided if totaled. 😊
Besides all the benefits, they also go on strike frequently. Sounds like a big rip off from tax payers

Totally disappointed in Candian educational system. Teachers are on strike almost every 2 years when the contract is being renewed. Better go to private schools if you can afford it. My experience had been you watched a lot vedio in classroom, a lot of gym and prep time. When enrol in the public system , ask them how much time the main teacher is teaching the students. Better still, ask them to see the teacher*s time table. You will see how much time she is really engage in teaching your child. They are highly paid without doing much. I think school days are only 201 days or less school year. So, teacher, don't complain. You are making more than 100,000 a year.

Plenty of private schools have more days off and also consume plenty of videos a year as well.The hiring process is also less regulated and parents have a misconception that bribes and gifts equate to more attention. If you're dissatisfied with the public educational system you should give teaching a try or become an education superintendent ;). Baseless anecdotal claims are a poor misrepresentation of the hardworking teachers in the public educational system.
