Thank you John for splicing these short clips together from John Lodge and Justin Hayward to put together "the story" of DOFP! as a teenager..15/16..when I first heard NIWS played on the "am" radio at that time: Theey became my al time favorite band/group/solo artist! I have many..from various genres! Seen them 3 times live in Indiana. Where I lived after fall of 1967 with very close relatives until 2014.. Now happily residing in my wife of 30 plus years home country: the Philippines! JUSTIN is my all time favorite male singer! Enya is my favorite female singer! Ethereal Voice! My dad played guitar and sang as a young men before marrying mom! He had a beautiful tenor voice back then..I was told as a young boy! Sadly once us kids came along he had a problem with drinking and smoking! " I avoid both like the plague! He had an offer to go to Chicago and sing on the radio! But his shyness caused him to pass up on the offer! Maybe regret later..led him to " the bottle" I credit him for my..told many times..talented tenor voice! I siing similar to Justin's tone and range! As well as my love for music and singing..from a toddler onward

I was recently gifted a 'book' named '1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die' - not one Moody Blues album was in that volume - either the authors are ignorant or just haven't been living on the same planet as the rest of us. The definitive and progressive Days of Future Passed, and all of their albums for that matter, would be up there with any of what appeared in that worthless waste of paper. All great things come to end, and the recent loss of members of the band is particularly sad, but they have all left us with a anthology of music which will last forever in the days of our lives and beyond. As a footnote it must be an easy gig to interview John and Justin, they both seem to be very pleasant and humble individuals. Thanks for the insight.

Great interview. I still have my well-worn copy of this album, purchased in early 1968. Looking back, the addition of Justin Hayward and John Lodge to The Moody Blues in 1966 had an impact on rock and roll history equal to the addition of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks to Fleetwood Mac in 1975.

Actually Day's of Future Past hit #3 on the billboard charts in 1972.

Way ahead of their time, the whole band was talented including Graeme Edge who was a damn good drummer. Saw them in '81 and 2016 and the new female additions to their group were a perfect fit. Days was revolutionary but not in my top 5 Moody albums, they were that good! Justin's vocals on some songs are magical.

Jazz pianist, Mary Lou Williams, put our her concept album, The Zodiac Suite, in 1945. Educate yourselves on music boys. Vivaldi wrote The Four Seasons in 1723, but I stuck to recorded music for an example. Since you said Prog "and" Concept album, and not Prog Concept album.
