Trying this on the upright as a complete starter coming from electric bass...hard as nails

It gets easier on upright. It took a good year of building my hands up to walk lines and solo over tunes, but it gets much easier over time. Keep up with electric and upright, we need more Jazz Musicians out there!

Thank you very much for your comment! Actually I've studied very little upright bass. Electric always have been my principal instrument, but I do try to imitate the Simandl upright technique into electric.

first you have to tune the bass
