One of the most underrated Trumpet players ever! Saw him live 3 times and he was absolutely phenomenal every time. Such a lyrical soloist but had a real fire with it.

Yeah, he was always all over the changes and rhythm and pulled off something exciting and interesting. You see lots of video of this and that well known performer playing with CR, and he is right in the pocket all the time. Anyone familiar with his playing knows he was a top echelon player but definitely not as well known as some.
