More modulations & changes of key than you can shake a stick at. Apparently Jerome Kenrn told a friend in the street that his composition would never catch on because it was too morose. As he spoke a passer by passed him whistling...what else..All The Things You Are. Edward Tarte plays an absolutely straight version of this piece on piano on You Tube.......extremely moving

What a performance - and that top C# at the end - sublime. It's a fantastic song of course, superbly crafted and this performance truly does it justice. Terrific arrangement by the way. The choir is wonderful too. The opening verse section that is so rarely heard is lovely and contextualises the song beautifully.

I'm a jazz saxophone player, yet never liked the up-tempo versions that most jazz players perform of this tune. (Ben Webster with Art Tatum is a notable exception.) It is, after all, a love song. This version is pretty much perfect. It moved me to tears.
