Yup, I did yet another transcription and copy of the standard 'All the things you are'. But this time, it's none other than great Keith Jarrett. Having listened to this solo for a few years, I always felt the need to do this and finally I did it. Before transcribing it, I thought Keith was using some kind of magical scale that only Keith knew because his playing on this blatantly well known tune sounded so 'modern' and 'new' to me.
However, after transcribing it, in my opinion Keith was just doing what Charlie Parker did, with a little bit of reharmonization and most importantly, with his unique touch and phrasing.(and just to be clear: I'm not saying this to disrespect this beautiful playing of great Keith Jarrett, but to respect his deep knowledge, discipline, and creative application of traditional bebop language)
I wanted to upload a full transcription video first and then my imitation of the playing, but I found some great transcription of this solo in youtube and decided that it is better I do not make some duplicates.
