All the Way Around Cape Ann - an Epic Journey

An epic journey around the entirety of Cape Ann, Massachusetts with the Mavic Pro. Roughly 22 miles total flight consisting of a couple dozen legs spliced together for a complete trip around the Cape. Was something I've wanted to do for awhile and a challenge to see if I could do it. Most of the landmarks along the way are pointed out. Hope you enjoy the flight!

@@WJEOutdoors It took about 3 weeks to do. Probably close to two dozen flights total. Went out each day after work weather permitting and did leg after leg till I made it all the way around. 😁

Derick... when did you get a chance to fly ? I haven't been to my club's field for two weeks. I can't do any beach launches over here. Even the remote public access roads are being monitored by the police. I'm going to try to access Colt State Park by bicycle.. we'll see. You can't drive a vehicle past the rotary, it blocked and they have Environmental police monitoring Access to the Park. I'd like to see a video of the same flight path shot with your Parrot Disco! Do you still have it ?

I haven't had any trouble getting around to places here on Cape Ann. Businesses are closed and some restrictions are in place but people can get out and about for the most part. Nice Flight video. Have you flown your Parrot Disco lately ? I tried to fly it 2 weeks ago. Parrot forced an update on Sky Controller 2. After the update Freeflight Pro tends to crash right after I send a Flightplan to my Disco. I didn't want to take a chance so I aborted the flight flew my Autel Evo. I don't like forced updates. I'll free up storage on my phone, kill all the background running apps.. hopefully that fixes the problem. I will try to fly it again this weekend.

Thank you! No I haven't flown my Disco in quite a while. Probably will bring it out again once the warmer weather finally comes. Sorry you had trouble with the updates. Hopefully that problem gets resolved.

I'm not happy to hear about that. I haven't flown my Bebop 2 since November 2019. It was all working flawlessly then. Sad to hear about your problem.

@@glenesis My Parrot Disco was flawless too.. perfectly executed flight (posted on my youtube site) every time. Right now I'm too chicken to attempt to fly it the way I used too. I don't want to loose it since you can't get them anymore. The camera may be outdated but it's still one my favorites in my collection. I have a Bebop 2 as well. After the update I couldn't execute my BeBop2 flightplans... Free Flight Pro had an error messasge can't connect to Hawkeye. Hawkeye is the name of my Disco. Underdog is the name of my Bebop2. This weekend I'm going to load up Free Flight Pro on an old phone and try it. Maybe a forced Android update broke it.

@@DerekDeacon I'm working on a new airplane. It's a STRIX Nano Goblin. I'm going to set it up with iNAV. I read it's capable of flights of an hour
