Jacques acerbic vision of life - elegantly described:) - a melancholic fellow - though in control - wishing no-one ill..

I yet again find myself here one year away from my 50th birthday, so sad to hear that the master has left us, but only in body. This has to be one of the finest performances of this work. Only through him did I really understand it. I am so sad he has left us. As I find myself at the door of "The Justice", having left behind "The Soldier" I feel and fear my own mortality as I have never done so before.

This is about the 10th time I have returned to watch this masterpiece, and each time is better than the last. A true tour-de-force of acting without even trying. Magnificant.

And here I am yet again..My act being yet being the "full belly with good capon lined." I have used this video in my class with students. You are a reference. This may be the best version I've seen on KZbin, even better Morgan Freeman's. The passion is real and it feels like my old grandfather is telling me the ages of man as he reminisces upon his own. Very well done.

Exactly, only someone who has lived or is upon the 7th age can really understand the piece. This can only be spoken while one is remeniscing his own 6 ages..

My most favourite rendition of this "The Seven Ages of Man".
@richbuckley69173 жыл бұрын
Very well done. The Seven Ages of Man. I’ve listened to the academics’ analysis. They seem not to be dream analysts that learn to search for the deeper levels. Shakespeare defines quintessential English. The masterful mind that cast these phrases I sense, hide their true meaning, three levels deep. A secret within a secret within a secret. Each secret raises the reader heavenly higher, not sadly lower in vibration, until the reader stands in the highest frequencies of rays. “All the world is a stage, All the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages.” .... A secret within a secret within a secret. 3-levels, 3-tracks. As a past life regression hypnotist, I witness a different reality, yet respect our current level of shifting reality. “7 ages,” are the spiritual science doorway of the occult knowledge 7 octaves of energy vibration-reality. With each phase our physical body falls away as we slowly ascend the 7-chakras (7 ages) of known existence through the occult. 3-tracks, “7-ages” also mean 7-chakras, also reflect 7-octaves. The soul-being in the 7th age knows the experience of the 7-chakras. Perhaps even fully aware of kundalini. 7 is the not so hidden theme and gateway to full understanding. 7 is universally understood. 7 is intended as a signal to look further. In this there is little doubt. My view composes my realty. We appear in this world in roles we audition to play before entering upon this stage (born into this life), sometimes male, sometimes female, sometimes plant, rock, insect, bird, in infinite variety, sometimes even as elementals, ... Fire, Water, Earth, and Air.... each with its own consciousness.... We each pass through them all, if not many as needed for our role, carrying the gift that is our permanent treasure, our consciousness. The master of our language, hides his vast wisdom deep, but leaves a prominent clue-trail for a few within his society that knew his deepest meaning. 7. Less he be declared a heretic and burned at the stake

Why the dislike? Can't they just add a comment/critism? If one does not like, they are free to say so, a dislike just discourages but critism separates the learned from the imbeciles.
@mdebailes-OK3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time time ReignTracer .... In principle I'm right with you ... but I do accept that the simply not liking is a valid and even truthful enough statement! .... Negative comments are fine as well .... However the odd person who enters into a comparative session when making comments mmmh! .. then they are opening themselves to a "bailie blast" .. Or they might suggest what I "should" do .... whoa! that's God or Whomever's domain .. it too incurs an intellectual missile! ...Most of these comments are based on a principle or love of another interpretation ... and they tend to sprout off on what they WANT to see/hear... but demanding that is a prejudice ... see below under Alex Ash... read my answer ..which I hope is a clear indication of at least one of my concepts. I thank you again ...best db

Sadly most interpretations don't include the most important part of this speech, the stage direction right after that disprove, in four words, all of it: "Enter ORLANDO bearing ADAM". This speech that reduces the human condition to that of an animal, stuck in the unchanging stage of life is disproven by the humanity of Orlando, ready in his youth to sacrifice all he has to save an old man who had left a good life and abandoned all he had worked for to be with Orlando. Shakespeare never meant for All the World's a Stage to be taken out of context from his piece, the whole speech is to mock those who think like Jaques.
@mdebailes-OK4 жыл бұрын
What a load of balls! ~ Shakespeare wouldn't give two continental tosses whether it was removed in isolation to the moon and performed by Jaques standing on his head ~ you can have all the opinions you like but none of them have any relevance other than they are your opinion! ~ sad that you believe otherwise and state them as facts!
