I believe his bass is a secondhand Rickenbacker that the previous owner had tried to make left handed by sawing the horn off.

There's a video out there where the guitar player Ben McLeod gets the chance to play one of Dianne Allman's guitars and he absolutely nails it. Also, he has real good KZbin channel for all you gear nerds.
