There are only 3 reactions to this song that I've found & no one has gotten the song! She's in bed with another guy. "She liked adventure with security & more than 1 man can provide. She planned adventure feeling sure that he would not be home till after 5. He turned on the lights & turned them off again." I really hope someone does a reaction that gets it. I heard the song for the first time since I was about 5 the other day & finally got the meaning as I was singing it. I was shocked, lol! Today I was on the hunt for someone with the same reaction, ha!

One thing that has always been misunderstood about country music, it's not just one kind of music. It's a little jazz, r&b, rock, pop, soul, and a whole lot of heart. That's what county music is.

Great reaction. I am seeing more and more black people turn on to country these days. I think it was coming to understand what it was about and getting past the stereotypes about it. Country gives us very relatable songs.

While I respect the roots of country I didn’t grow up with old school country. I actually used to hate country until it sucked me in during the early 90s and 90s country became my go to music that I listen to the most. Sometimes it’s all about timing. I found country when the time was right for me. I’m 46 now and got into country in 1993 when I was 21. I was driving and was just in the frame of mind to get lost in a song and the right one came on, this one (All These Years by Sawyer Brown), and it stayed in my ears, my mind, and in my heart for days afterward until I had to buy the CD. That’s how it started for me. I love how country songs paint vivid pictures and that each one is its own story. Anytime anyone asks me why I like country, especially 90s country then I ask them to listen to this song. Mark has such a rich voice and you can feel the emotion in his vocals along with the powerful imagery the lyrics evoke. I am sure that this song has helped a lot of people get through some tough times and maybe, just maybe, helped them think twice about acting on an impulse before they potentially throw “all these years” away. Thank you so very much for listening to and reacting to this often overlooked gem! I appreciate you doing this!
