I occasionally work in a flower shop. During the prom/Mother’s Day season I pick up some hydrangea trims (stems). I put them in some water and they started to leaf, but no roots. Do I need to be more patient for roots? What do I do?

Try dipping the stems in some rooting hormone first, this will encourage your cuttings to develop root system. Plugging them in a well drained organic potting soil in small pots (like 1 gallon) will allow them to root in a few months and then they can be planted.
