Little nugget of info - when you settle on a more permanent place, make sure you are on at least the 9-10th floor as mosquitoes and most air-bound bugs don’t fly that high and you can sit on your balcony without fear of them bugging you 😊

Hi Darren , new to your channel, good luck with your move to Thailand . Just be careful with trusting both Thai and farang you meet as not all are good people. I am married to a Thai for 20 years and Thais come first in any situation. That’s why my assets are in uk and we rent when in Thailand. If you meet someone keep your mature head on , it’s so easy to fall in love with the wrong person. I took a big chance but it worked out ok cannot count how many people return to uk with no money because they trusted a Thai girlfriend. I am 63 and if I had to do it again I would not take the chance . The difference in the mind set between you and the average Thai is vast. We think differently, have a good time , don’t fall in love with any girl from the bar scene . Look for a partner else where, ones without tattoos who don’t drink or smoke and you have found a normal stunning Thai woman . They will still want looking after but not to the degree of a lying bar girl. They genuinely don’t mind older men , my wife is 15 years younger , looks 30years younger. Men wherever we go stare at her , she could have left me and taken half of what we have in the Uk but so far so good , my first wife did that 25years ago. Have fun get good medical insurance. Visit Krabbie , Ao nang , Rai Lay beach in the south , stunning places . My favourite beach’s

Suggest you don't wait too long to start visa application - can take 4 weeks through an agent. Renting is also a good idea.

Daren mint mantions is about 12 000 per month it would be good for you to spend a month about 40 square meter room just until you find somewhere more permanent nice hotel £36 per night is good blue sky is nice £26 per night

Agree hotel to expensive for Thailand then there was this business class flight he will quickly run out of money after a year he has to live on a budget to stay in Thailand because of the money u need in a bank account to live there long term.

£36 a night is mediocre, breakfast is cheap in most places , £36 is not cheap but you gotta a nice clean room in a nice hotel . If you’re gonna live in Thailand you wanna start looking for an apartment which will save you a lot of money

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life … Good luck with setting yourself up I did the same thing 18 months ago no regrets at all . Cannot agree about Aqua hotel rooms are not compact they are positively small , I found after three days that it was very frustrating, I think there is much better value nearby such as page 10 Hotel or The stay for a similar price. The noise at tree town is also an ever growing problem behind the hotel . Great location though in the heart of town , make sure you pop into the Hunny lounge just up the road on soi honey, Graham is a lovely chap who will be more than happy to help out with any needs you and info about town.
