All Transformations From Ghosts 'N Goblins Series (Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Super, Ultimate, Resurrection)

All wizard transformations for the Ghosts 'n Goblins series. This includes Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins, and Ghosts 'N Goblins Resurrection. Thanks again to "B" for suggesting the video topic. This hasn't been document before so I hope anybody that's looking for this will be happy with the end product. I think these transformations give the series its tongue-in-cheek humor.

A couple of notes. Mainly on Super Ghouls n Ghosts but also Maximo. Though 1st. -You forgot the Wonderswan and Gold Knights games. For the Wonderswan Arthur can get transformed into a baby and a old man in that. Baby if he is in armor and old man if he is in boxers. Funny enough this game has a wizard boss in it that transforms you before trying to actually attack you with magic. That boss shows up in the new one in the hell's gate chests funny enough now, so gotta give props for pulling a wonderswan reference in Resurrection. The Gold Knight games just have a chicken form for Arthur and the other 2 playable characters. Nothing much else on them. -Seal Arthur can actually double jump. Making it the only form that could actually still play the levels funny enough til the boss at least. Because even though Bee Arthur is hovering above ground he for some reason can't jump over stuff he should be able to. Granted Seal Arthur's double jump isn't as long as Arthur's so it might not reach some things still but it can double jump. The chest contents are based off what status Arthur is at the time actually, the game has it work out that for normal play (as in you don't get hit) the 1st chest you find is a weapon, 2nd is bronze armor, 3rd gold armor, 4th shield upgrade, 5th a weapon. But man if you get hit and are down to your boxers you had better hoped you been spawning chests because replacement armor is a pain to get. Armorless Arthur finds the wizard in 5/10 chests in total (there are 10 chests per level). The only one who finds the wizard more is Arthur in gold armor but even then you aren't even likely to need the chest in gold armor. For better or worse Baby and little Girl Arthur are the most common forms. Which funny enough is when you are most likely to look for a chest (because you want armor) and least likely to look for a chest (at least until you want the goddess bracelet, or you want shields to power up magic, absorb some projectiles). -Maximo's mechanics for the wizard are actually a bit more complex than the game shows. Sure there are a few wizards in the games that will show up no matter what, but the wizard has a spawn chest that takes the place of a good chest in every non hub level that can be triggered by abusing the sword slam attack on non knocked out foes 7-8 or so times per level. Which is suppose to punish the player for using one of Maximo's better attack options too often. So yeah in world 1 and 4 the wizard has a couple of chests that can turn you into an old man. Baby Maximo can also show up in worlds 2, 3, and 5 as well. Which is sadly how I learned baby Maximo can drown in shallow water...Cause getting transformed in world 2's many swamps isn't good. But there are two things wrong with this mechanic in the game though: ring of pain doesn't trigger it, which is the 2nd most busted thing for combat in this game (1st being just a overhead lightning shield toss, that bolt of lightning is busted and doesn't waste shield durability on its own) and the wizard is glitched and only shows up 1x per play run. So until you hard reset the game the wizard won't spawn again. The hidden wizard can show up in any type of chest as well, which really sucks when he spawns in a metal hidden chest that you don't have a key for at the time, then come back and find out that the wizard has taken residence in said chest and blasts you with magic. Yeah he won't show up in hidden chests right away but in a few spots that have him take them over if you leave the chest alone to open its contents later you might find yourself less than 1/2 your height and in a diaper with a rattle instead of a sword (because funny enough the wizards that do this in the 2nd world's 1st level and the cannon ball run level of world 3 all turn Maximo into a baby). A good spot to test the hidden wizard special spawn points actually is in coffin canyon. The cave there by the start that is by a lava pool has a very good chest in it that the game just rips away from you for a wizard spawn if you triggered him, which funny enough a lot of people do trigger that wizard when they are playing the game the 1st time. Funny enough on Old Man Maximo, he can also complain about his back for another action but that hand stand on his sword, you can hold it by pressing the attack button and even let Maximo pogo stick with it. Baby Maximo can shake the rattle but also has some hidden animations when some special stuff happens. Such as rolling backwards if he is standing over an enemy spawn point. -Army of Zin, has cut content of transformation mechanics in it. I don't know why the game removed the mechanic. There is even concept art of Maximo as a chicken laying an egg.

2:17 The Ghost'n Goblin girl hack! There is a hack(or mod) which allows you play as girl Arthur at all time. Girl Arthur is very OP in this mod. "She" has infinity jumps, has faster fire rate, you can throws more fire at same time. And doesn't become a skeleton when you die. And you only have female underwear when you're hurted.

Cool video! I think there's one transformation you missed in Ghouls 'n Ghosts, as far as I remember there's a way you can be transformed into the big lady too there, she's carrying a butcher knife and can still shoot and jump, but is overall slower than Arthur. Not sure if it's the Genesis- or Arcade-version, but I'm 99% positive it's in Ghouls n' Ghosts.

IMO Resurrection only having 3 transformations is cheap when Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins went all out with em, beating even Super Ghouls n' Ghosts. Maximo has the most detailed transformations though even if there is only 2 of them. Full 3D detailed animated models with special actions must have been annoying to program for something that is the opposite of gold armor Maximo (they use the same timer, it is just hidden when Maximo is a baby or an old man)

@@austinreed7343 Well Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins sort of did that. The xl woman Arthur gets transformed into floats when jumping lol. The baby and old man were the best though IMO. Though that is just because of Maximo.
