"Created history" You should go listen to classical music because like most film music a considerable amount of John Williams work walks on the very border of plagiarism. He is part of pop culture so his work will be remembered, though, but yeah. You should actually look up the bits that "inspired" John Williams works. There is a significant amount of his work that is directly lifted from other pieces.

Film composers especially have to work very fast often under very tight deadlines so it's inevitable that they will borrow themes from other composers. Plus most of the ones working today grew up listening to each other's music and were all influenced by each other as well as outside sources.
