When it opened in 2006, this was the third Schlitterbahn waterpark following the ones in New Braunfels and South Padre Island which opened in 1979 and 2001 respectively. When the company sold this location and the ones in New Braunfels to Cedar Fair in 2019 (becoming the largest acquisition for that company since the buying of the 5 Paramount Parks in 2006), they've retained full ownership of their South Padre Island location renaming it Beach Park At Isla Blanca while the locations in Kansas City and Corpus Christi were closed and demolished.

You all should check out Beach Park at Isla Blanca in South Padre Island, Texas, USA (formerly known as Schlitterbahn South Padre Island). They have 4 master blaster water coasters and while they aren’t super big or thrilling, attractions and the park as a whole is extremely unique in the way it’s set up. Rather than walking and waiting in a normal queue for each attraction (except for one of the water coasters), you actually float along the lazy river to get from slide to slide and steer off the main river path whenever you want to ride a slide and each slide pours out into the lazy river. Super relaxing and a cool concept!

When I visited this park way back when it opened in 2006, the rental lockers were all taken, so my uncle had the brilliant idea to bring his waterproof plastic car key with him & lock the real key in the car so nobody would have to stay behind to guard our stuff. Needless to say he lost it in the tidal wave river thing...I remember we were going around for one last lap when I suddenly heard him yell "Son of a bitch!" Luckily we were able to get back home after searching for the key for about an hour, then finally giving up & paying a locksmith.

Probably. I've found that if the camera is strapped tightly somewhere where it would be unlikely to fall, lifeguards usually don't take much problem with it.

Be careful, they still charge full price when half the rides aren't working. Also, can be an hour to get on a ride and an hour getting a tube. Crazy. The reservation for a daily ticket you have to do online beforehand with a time your coming. Do some research because they seem to cater to locals only. Expensive

It was actually allowed to take GoPros down the slides when we went there. However, Schlitterbahn was purchased by Cedar Fair a few weeks after our visit and Cedar Fair has a very strict camera policy at their other parks. So I can imagine that it's not possible anymore.
