The library smelled like old paper and books with a hint of fire ash. It was raining outside and as I ran in, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the fire. The windows were dark and the only sounds I could hear was the wet rain and the crackling fire. "Mrs.Brown?" I shouted. Mrs.Brown was the librarian who worked here but there was no response. "Mrs.Brown" I repeated but again, no response. I brushed it off and thought perhaps she was somewhere in the back. I sat in one of the large wooden chairs with a soft velvet cushion I felt myself slowly relax against the comfort the chair provided me.

I keep dozing off to sleep only to startle myself awake, I put on the rain sounds because I know that it will lull me to sleep. The rain sounds reminds me of being back home in the South, those rainy nights falling asleep to the sound of the rain hitting the tin roof of our house; and the pavement.
