Another use of hybrid mode is for mowing the edge of the field, but dropping the grass away from the fence/hedge, so there's room for the tedder to go over, and then windrow.

I found that you can wrap a grass bale with your baler/wrapper combo. You can place the bale in the rear wrapping part and it will automatically wrap it, even if it's not hooked up to a tractor. It eliminates the need to lease or buy a separate wrapper. I tried this with the Pottinger Impress. Thanks for the video, I want to start doing grass for hay and silage for cows and your video was very helpful. 👍👍

Interesting trick! Good to know!
@neilharbott83942 жыл бұрын
Variable sized balers - the wrappers only work on the small and medium sized bales (xTractors work on all sizes). The round baler/wrappers be prevented from wrapping, by selecting the largest bale size - so 125/150 will wrap if grass, but 180 will not wrap!

Arthur you are right. I have made so much cash making silage bales and selling them. You forgot that you have to fertilize grass every time you cut it.
@kingarthursims2 жыл бұрын
Actually you don't - you get a 50 percent bonus just for cutting it. I wouldn't waste chemical fert on grass since its free anyway. Better off rolling it or leaving it.

You can mow wheat, barley and oats (where did you come up with Rye??!), this will just give you the straw, no grain. But it is a cheap alternative to the small farmer who can't afford a harvester (or the rental on one), or just can't be bothered with the grain!
@kingarthursims2 жыл бұрын
didn't know that either, though I had heard rumors.

did you know if you have a powerful tractor you can put on a front mower and the silage baler/wrapper on the back and make it all in one go? AI even does it for you like this
@kingarthursims2 жыл бұрын
Now that is nice to have a worker do it for ya! I prefer wide cutting and windrowing because it 'seems" faster, but in the long run doing it your way may be the fast way to do it.

Leaving bales outside? In real life many farmers will not put them in sheds, due to risk of fire, and the losing of an expensive shed! So long as you stack bales the amount which would rot (before you get around to using it), is not significant. Some farmers leave stacks in different fields, again, so that if a stack catches fire, they don't lose all of the bales they have! AFAIK there is no rotting in FS22, that was specific to Realismus Seasons mod for FS17 & FS19 - grass would rot with time, hay and straw would rot in rain/snow.

Would you happen to know the keybind on PC for enabling the Pottinger crossflow/windrow ability? My F1 menu doesn't show it. I can get the back mowers to move in and out cus they're on a left/right mouse menu, but the crossflow doesn't fit I guess. Edit: for posterity it's ctrl y helpful video, thanks for making it
