Texas is the most grown region for tannat. And it's by far the best grape that grows here that's fabulous. Smells like rich leather!!

Mate, I'm very surprised to discover that it is a more "heavy bodied - not for the faint-hearted" wine in the pallette, so to speak. I've always liked it for being easier and more delicate than Cabernet, Carmenere so forth! I guess my sense of taste has been somewhat impaired for a few years now! Excelent, I am from Uruguay and... I do not like to much Tannat, ( although there are a few very interesting ones), but I found the video really a high level class of resuming information. Congratulations, et sante a nous :)

I tried Tannat on a day trip to Colonia, UR from Buenos Aires before I knew that I was a supertaster and the tannins nearly rendered my tongue unusable for the rest of the afternoon. I might give it ago in the future, but I'll need an ojo de bife or something else extremely fatty in order to appreciate it.

@@chancemiller9340 , absolutly! you need to have high fat on mouth to control the tannins... I suggest try blends, with tannat and other Bordeaux variations, is much more easy to appreciate. Wellcome always to Uruguay !!

@@artgge7845- Fui a Uruguay un par de veces porque estaba trabajando y viviendo en BsAs por tipo 7+ años. Primero fui a Colonia para obtener otra visa stamp por 3 meses más para mí pasaporte, pero fui entre 6 y 8 veces. Colonia 3 o 4 veces, Montevideo, Punta del Este (por supuesto), Punta del Diablo, Paloma (?), y más... Y ahora soy Argentina también entonces somos hermanos del Rio de la Plata.
