I'm not sure if I am asking this question to a right person.. I apologize if the question is quite disturbing.. There a lot of T.Rufonigra ant crawling outside of my house.. I've been stung like more than twice a month.. and really need to put an end to this.. is there a way to destroy their colony and what should i do? I am sorry.. i didn't hate them but its too much too handle
@DavidFoo933 жыл бұрын
Hi, i completely understand your frustration because just life anybody else in this world, i kill ants too. Hahaha. This species love honey a lot. You can try mixing ant poison into honey and feed it to them. They should be nesting inside of some branches of some huge trees. Once they drink up all the poisoned honey, they should be dead in a day or 2. This always works for me with the feral ants in my area, but i haven't yet this with Tetraponera yet. You can try it and let me know of the result.
@DavidFoo933 жыл бұрын
Don't forget to mix a huge batch of poisoned honey for them because the colony might be very big. The queen must die in order for the entire colony to die. A small batch might not be enough to kill the entire colony. Btw, if you are from Malaysia, you can try pestasia's ant eco bait. U can get it from shopee.

Hi antsdiy! Can you please tell my how to identify a queen tetraponera from a tetraponera worker? Thx.
@DavidFoo933 жыл бұрын
hi, if you are referring to Tetraponera rufonigra, the queen got both it's petiole orange, while the workers are one black, one orange. But if you referring to Tetraponera in general (all other Tetraponera spp are black), then you need to check her wing scars. Queen ants have larger thorax as there are wing muscles in it. Hope this is helpful.

Hi i have a big colony thats prodicing males females would the mate together
@DavidFoo933 жыл бұрын
It depends on the species though. Some species such as BCA can mate within the colony. But usually others cannot.

@@DavidFoo93 tetraponera rufonigra got a verry big colony 3 years old lots workers queen is huge and prodicing fenales and males some one told me they mate with eachother
@DavidFoo933 жыл бұрын
No they don't. If they can mate within the colony, then there won't be nuptial flight for them and we won't be able to catch any queen in the wild then.
