The SUPPORTS are made from NYLON and stripped out. Pieces and screws went every which way. I'm replacing them with METAL. Lost one of the camera supports during the incident. 3D Printing another one. Having to design it myself. Unable to find one online. Can't wait to get it back in the air. Really performs. Hi, thank you for the review! I´d like to ask, if is it possible to use transmitter and goggles from the old Tinyhawk (1)? (I mean that first one 75mm whoop style with white plastic cover) Because the look totaly similar. Thank you!
@ImaginationTech2 жыл бұрын
I believe the old transmitter is a D8 transmitter, so you just need to look for the bind instructions. Similarly, the goggles can be used to pickup analog transmission from any VTX, not just the Tinyhawk, so you should be good to go. You'll likely want to upgrade from that transmitter though, something better with longer sticks and better features. :)

Is the change of VTX antenna noticable? i mean range, distortion,... in comparison of stock? does it worth upgrading?
@ImaginationTech3 жыл бұрын
If you're in a flat open field (and you have a non-polarized antenna on your goggles) it might not make a big difference. But if you're flying in places with walls, trees, and/or other pilots, then yes the polarization will help with distortion and signal bouncing off of stuff so I think it's worth upgrading.

@ImaginationTech2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Yes, better antennas will help. Also note that if you go behind obstacles like houses, trees, buildings, etc., it will cause a lot of interference. Diversity goggles/receiver will also help, and you would normally put 1 omni antenna (looks like a lollipop, good omnidirectional reception but not very long range) and put 1 patch antenna (has a flat surface, good directional reception when pointed at your drone at long range).
@vanlutzfpv79902 жыл бұрын
You may have chopped your antenna? The same thing happened to me. Sadly emax doesn’t sell a aio board for the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle so you would have to buy a new one. Try the antenna first though.
@ImaginationTech2 жыл бұрын
It's possible. There's several options if it is the antenna causing issues: Desolder and resolder a new antenna. It's not too hard, but the pads are tiny. The antennas do experience wear & tear with normal use so it's best you learn this skill sooner or later. It's coaxial, so it's similar to what you would do with the lollipop antenna upgrade (17:47) They also do sell the AIO board, but it's expensive plus shipping to wherever, might be worth it to buy a new one. Or if you can forgo the 200mw, you can get an AIO for the old Tinyhawk Freestyle, they're both basically the same aside from the VTX. You can also transplant the VTX if you have the de/soldering skill. emax-usa.com/collections/electronics/products/tinyhawk-ii-parts-all-in-one-fc-esc-vtx-f4-5a-25-100-200mw

I had very low range and then RX loss all the time, I solderd a standart rc antenna on it, now I have about 40 metres.. But how do you get 800 metres?? I Hope you can help me out
@ImaginationTech Жыл бұрын
If you're not even getting 500m, there's definitely something wrong. It's usually the antenna so that's the first place we check. Check solder points on the board (make sure ground and signal are not touching as well), antenna placement, and of course if the exposed antenna element (the thin wire enclosed in a clear plastic tube) is exposed the right length (about 32mm). Oscar Liang has a good article on this: oscarliang.com/repair-2-4ghz-antenna-rx/ . Check your antenna on the radio as well. Other than that, there might be a miniscule chance that the rx itself is busted, or the radio. You can try binding the Tinyhawk to a different radio just to see.

@ImaginationTech3 жыл бұрын
100m of range is definitely an issue. First thing to check is the antenna on both your TH2 and your XJT module. You can try replacing the antenna, it's not too hard, and it's also a cheap fix.

@@DJMina23 how have things been? Sorry for the late reply. If it's not the antenna or module, there's not much else because it would then be a problem with the board (not very common). As one more test you can do, try binding the quad with a friend's radio (D8 or D16, try them both) and see if you are still getting failsafes. If yes, then it's the quad/antenna. @@ImaginationTech man thank you for following up. I spoke with emax they recommended a different module entirely lol so I went and messaged someone about the xjt and he reported the same issue. @@DoktorSkill lines when throttling up could mean a problem or noise somewhere in the power system (from power leads, capacitor, ESC, to motors), or with the vtx itself. I've gone about a kilometer out, but that is with a really good direct path to the drone. RF interference as well as antenna and antenna placement plays a good factor. The best you can do is to set the motors to beep. It's not that loud though so avoid tall grass.

Lol. I was like... HE DIDN'T EVEN USE THE ZIPTIE TO ATTAC.... oooooooooh, holy shit... 300IQ play. Liked for that. Sub'd for everything else that was helpful, which was most of it. Can't wait to get my TH2FS! Is there anywhere I can buy one of those little 3D printed parts? I need that in my life. OR... would you be interested in upgrading a TH2FS FrSky with these upgrades and selling it to me? I wouldn't mind having a few of these little drones for future usage and possible starting my own little youtube channel.

I believe banggood sells a similar insta360 go mount.

@@fossil98 Yea, I actually found it by accident! Thanks for the heads up!

@@fossil98 I actually didn't know that! That's quite useful for those without access to a 3D printer. I'll add the link in the description. Thanks! :)

@@gasser5001 I'm guessing you're referring to how the RX is mounted 😄 Glad it helped! I can't take credit for the idea though, I forgot where I learned it from, one of our FPV forefathers 😅

@@ImaginationTech do you lose signal strength by encasing the rx with the ziptie/heat shrink???

Am I missing something .. hasn’t this been out for a while?

Yes, I did mention it's been out for months in the video.

Bruh u can’t just fly on 6 volts left 💀
@ImaginationTech Жыл бұрын
Sure you can! If you fly whoops, then you know that landing at 3.0V will result in a resting voltage of about 3.7V. Flying these 2S batts to 3.0V-3.2V/cell does about the same thing. I would not do it with bigger capacity batteries like 850mah or higher because those don't sag as much, but with these 450mah they do. I've had these 2S LiPos for years before they gave up on me.
