Alla Nazimova - A Tribute in Color

I never mean disrespect to the original art of silent film by enhancing repairing and colorizing.
If there is a famous face from the past you would like to see (more men from the silent era?), or a subject, please let me know in the comments below :) )
Alla Nazimova could make you cry along with her by just one look of those piercing eyes.
Included is one of my favorite films, Camille (1921) with Rudolph Valentino. It is said that Nazimova picked him for the role of Armand. Natacha Rambova did the designs for the sets and some of the costumes. Rambova met Valentino initially on one of Nazimova's other projects - Unchartered Seas. Rambova of course would later become Valentino's wife.
All colorizations, enhancements are done with techniques through Photoshop

Their dresses and outfits were classy, imaginative and some were considered 'pushing it' when it came to 'morality' of the times. Sometimes I think we ran out of innovation and imagination when it comes to a lot of things today.

I've had the (questionable) pleasure of seeing Nazimova's "Salome". The picture itself lumbers along like a 3-ton turtle, but Nazimova was past 40 when she made it, and is completely believable as a teenage girl; every expression, every gesture, every posture is pretty well perfect so far as I could see.

Thank you :) I have many projects on the go, including part 2 of that doc. Also Theda's costumes from Cleopatra (managed to find a few surviving pieces in collections, fabric faded), and actually have started on Florence lol. Just doing Colleen Moore at the moment :)

@@RhiannonsAdventuresInHistory Also thought of Ione Bright but there aren't many pictures of her. Tried to search for more for my Saint Seiya fafictions. Kinda wanna make something like the Highlander movie you know. Imortal actresses from old Hollywood. The ones I chose were Maude Fealy, Evelyn Nesbit, Theda Bara, Florence Lawrence, Ione Bright and Gladys Cooper.
