I totally forgot about the center-tapped transformer since my schooling. I never use it; I always use a full-wave, 4 diode rectifier circuit with a high-quality pi filter using to capacitors and an inductor.

Very thorough presentation..however, it can be more meaningful if you can develop your presentations showing the circuit's internal actions using real-time animation.

Sir I am trying to make a electric magnet in a the base of a 30 inch metal bender I cut out and wielded it in a form of a magnet I am using a 200 amp 2 pole full bridge rectifier to change the current to dc but it keeps tripping the breaker. Do I need a transformer in front of the rectifier. Please give me some tips on making this project work. I would appreciate it

what is the difference between average volt and dc volt here?
@jiyaallawadhi41914 жыл бұрын
V avg for bridge rectifier shall include 0.7 instead of 1.4 according to me because second diode is after the load and we take output from load. Am I correct?

A full wave center-tapped transformer rectifier in a power supply provides an average dc output voltage of 14V on which a maximum ripple of +/-0.5 volt is allowed. Diodes have a 0.7V drop when conducting. Assuming a resistive load of 120 Ω, a line voltage of 120V rms @ 60Hz through a transformer, (a) Sketch the circuit diagram for the rectifier (b) what is the rms voltage across the transformer secondary? (c) Determine the size of filter capacitor required. (d) Assuming 50% safety margin, what diode PIV rating is appropriat

How frequency gets double?
@ALLABOUTELECTRONICS4 жыл бұрын
If you see the output waveform, then it repeats itself after a T/2 time period (Compared to the original waveform) Hence, the frequency of the output waveform is double compared to the original waveform.
